I would really like to so Gate/Depth I am being invited to. (not only the person's name.) I feel this would be a simple fix, that would allow game-play to go smoother.

True, but not everyone who invites you is a friend. Sometimes, it is the leader of a party, who happens to be with one of your friends. It is just smoother to include a depth, or something.

I think icons would be better, gate and level type. Scroll over to see spesifics. Same should be on the freinds list, for if you want to join someone. Buddy needed help on FSC, but he only had the time to PM me "Hel". By the time I got to the bazzar to see what gear I needed, he died and quit.

I like the Icon idea better
I like the Icon idea better as well. (Maybe with hover-text for details).
Keep ideas, coming, if we can throw some good suggestions, maybe it will change!
Your Friends list indicates the Gate and depth of all online players, so the problem's not insurmountable as it is; you just have to check before accepting the invite. That said, it wouldn't be difficult for the invite text to include that information, so why not?
