I have spent around 50 bucks on this game mainly because I got impatient. Things got too repetitive. I think 3 Rings/Sega is getting way too greedy. Seriously, it costs 750 ce to open a lockbox. That's about $3 just to place a minor accessory on knights. I know you can use in game money to obtain this CE, but you have to play alot!
Everybody would be happy if CE prices were like this:

Recipes: 1 star- 10
2 star-50
3 star-100
4 star-200
5 star-400

Now I'm not sure who will disagree, but this is the perfect amount of CE that suits it right. This game was advertised as Free to Play! Make it free, and take off any payment that requires money. People have spent enough money on this game already.

Plus, people who spend money on Spiral Knights have many unfair advantages such as: Taking control of the Energy Depot (WTF!!). Winning PvP matches, wear nice bling-bling, and play more than an F2P player.

If anyone agrees with my post, please feel free to leave suggestions here too.

It IS free. Be patient and wait for the things you need. You don't really have to pay for it so just take all the time in the world to get whatever you want. (Tip: Use your mist energy first for the things that cost crystal energy! It will save you lots!)

sadly, this is your problem; however, repetition occurs in every game in some way ( level grinding being the biggest one) SK is no different. its your impatience thats killing you.

yeah and what else is new? OOO has been like that for awhile now.... with the introduction of steam trading they matched the prices of the silver keys to the TF2 crate keys

6k isnt a lot, i can get that in less than an hour enough said

prior to 5/17 crafting prices were about the same as you marked... the issue was that people burned through the only content this game really has, acquisition of equipment. sorry but current prices are balanced enough, you're just too impatient to work for your equipment

newflash genius THIS IS FREE TO PLAY YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PAY. i'm so sick and tired of this argument.... i have been playing for 6 months now and i have YET pay into the game and i have an adequate amount of 5* gear. it takes time and effort but it can be done without real world money

the thing is, OOO allows you to acquire the same currency paying players use, it's just harder to do. it takes time but you can do the same things as you mention. i can work my way to a silver key and open a lockbox if i wanted an accessory. if i wanted to i can play 24 hours without spending a dime because i know how the system works

Madadder, I totally agree with you. I'm just one of this impatient dudes. But they should at least make mist charge faster, dontcha think? It'll encourage people to play more often.

ever consider the ramifications of faster mist charge? less people would be likely buy CE for one. less CE bought mean less chance CE gets set on the CE market which could mean prices would climb slowly making it harder and harder to make gear above 2*. also less CE bought means less profit for OOO which goes into supporting the game and their employees.

ultimately you are suggesting something without seeing the whole picture. im all for more playtime but not at the expense of the game

Just my thoughts...

Threads similar to this have been posted before, and Three Rings has their reasons for having the prices that high. The company does need money to run the game, update, and a lot more. You really shouldn't be complaining, otherwise the game's gonna shut down due to the lack of money their getting.

And just a note: the prices for crafting were originally these prices, and for 5 star items, less. The prices were: 10 energy for 1*, 50 energy for 2*, 100 energy for 3*, 200 energy for 4*, and 300 energy for 5*. They've increased the price, and people have complained, but they've gotten over it, and you should too. If your gonna quit and leave because you don't like it, that quit, there's not much you can do about it.

And this game IS free to play, just slower than buying. Looking at what your saying, you seem impatient at this game. Again, there's not much you can do about it. Three rings does need money, and I suggest you stop complaining and move on.
