promising :P

i have two gripes about this. first, it almost sounds like things are set up like a typical clockworks level. second, pvp takes place in krogmo's colliseum, therefore for pvp to be outside that context just doesnt fit very well. i think it would probably be more fun holding off droves of oncoming enemies like turret defense. the idea of FF sounds lame tho, and if the penalty isnt big enough, why not just kill off the other team so they cant do any damage? FF shouldnt be part of this imo. instead you could just spawn mirrored smaller levels like a race course (its a colliseum event after all!) so they will not interfere with each other at all and connect them at the end for the "finale", where the first team to reach it gets to start inflicting damage earlier. i think that having such specific races causes problems of a lack of variety of weapon usage. everyone that does LD t3 knows the place is flooded with piercing weapons and gran fausts. also, i feel like any new pvps should give a little love to gunners if possible.

Yup, that is why it is a competitive PvE event, maybe I should change the title to that? That is actually why I think it would need to go separated of Krogmo, because that is "entertainment to monsters through players pain", while these competitive PvE events would be more "cause even more pain to monsters".

You would still need to resurrect the other team for advancing in some places, maybe I should have specified that too. Anyways, risking a wipe would mean that you wouldn't get any tokens... Though friendly fire was an idea I got to actually 1-Be more careful, 2-Make what you are actually complaining possible, as it is a "free for all" race to get kills and do the better job, so all is allowed in war. 3-Tactics to claim monsters and even make games with shield pushing in them. Also, that friendly fire wouldn't be full damage, it would be half a heart, for example, because we all know the BIG damages in Lockdown. Think of it as the friendly fire in old beat em' ups, where you could make long fights against your 2nd player if you got bored and such. It is still just one of the ideas, friendly fire isn't not needed to be accepted.

About waves: there could be events of "holding back an invasion" for example, or in the Wolver assault itself, I made a possible reference that until you killed one or more Alpha Wolvers you wouldn't be able to move on, so that could affect tactics such as the other team defending the Alpha Wolver while they try to get more points claiming other Wolvers.

Your "2 roads, meet at center" could also be a mode, sort of like "Pincer attack the (insert) army!" Not all of the competitive PvE arenas have to have all 2 teams in the same place. I played another MMO that had such an event where 2 teams fought in a mirrored arena against a big boss that spawned lots of robots, and whoever killed that first won. Though, that would feel like a "competitive Team Attack", so I like your idea better of having to kill the target in a "meeting area". Also, not all events would need to have "race specific" things. For example, the Gremlin attack! one could perfectly have Constructs in there.

And about "same weapon usage"? Well, of course it depends to which mission you would go, if you are geared with Shadow weapons, enter the Gremlin Attack challenge, etc... of course better geared people will do most likely better, but that is a given for anything, I think, haha. Also... you could build your player to annoy the other team, with knockback weapons and such.

I'm going to lay it out like

I'm going to lay it out like you did, with some major changes. It wouldn't be PvP, to start; that's what the Colisuem's for. The rest will be explained as I go on.

- You'd get specialized roles like Alpha Squad; leader, technician, guardian, scout. You can select a preferred one when joining and it would match up a team of each one. It would have a list of people waiting, for example, it might have, "13 leaders waiting, 24 guardians waiting, 0 technicians waiting, 3 scouts waiting" to show you which classes need to be filled so people can switch when they need to.

- You'd go in and be provided with a random mission, like from the prize wheel, so you never know what you might get. There'd be ones like you said, plus ones with unique enemies: giant Cradle dragonflies, large, dark-furred monsters called Prowlers, etc. You would pay 300 cr to join a team, and if you completed the mission you'd get 500 cr, 10 ce, and a random trinket or sometimes a unique Haven Defense item.

- As a pointer for the next part, you would gain a bar called the Stamina bar on your HUD. You have 220 Stamina to start off, but it does not regenerate like Mist Energy does. Reviving teammates would use Stamina, and doing specific actions such as the things mentioned in the next section would use it.

- The classes would get specialized trinkets and weapons; for example, a technician would get shock resist, and he'd also get a Spanner, a weapon that does little damage but can be used to power up special things scattered around the levels - defense turrets, heal pads, doors, and the occasional Arsenal Station. The scout would get freeze resist and utilize a Runner, a special device that allows him to latch onto roofs and walls to avoid enemies, traps or get to normally unreachable stops. Using such devices would use up Stamina.

- The things mentioned just then would be vital to finishing these levels. Teamwork would be required to get past areas. Technicians would need to open doors, hack panels, and aid the team with optional things such as turrets, heal pads and Arsenal Stations. Every few levels, you might find a Stamina Refiller right before an extremely hard area. Stamina Refillers would refill your Stamina up to a maximum of 65 refilled. Stamina Refillers do not need to be activated.

- To fail, your entire team must die at the same time. You lose instantly.

- Your guide in the levels would be Clebas, a Spiral intelligence agent. He would brief you on your missions and provide information sometimes. He would also give you your rewards. If you lose 5 times in a day, Clebas would inform you that you have failed to show a high enough standard and you must complete a full Clockworks level within 20 minutes before you could play again.

- If you quit the level, you are not refunded crowns. If you quit, the team is therefore incomplete and the next available person for the class that you were is immediately added to the level. If there is no one of that class, a random person from the class with the highest amount of waiting people will be picked and put into your game. Clebas will say to them, "You have been reassigned from a [preferred class] to a [changed class] because this squadron's [changed class] had to be extracted. We are sorry if this inconveniences you."

That's all I have for now.

good idea

I would play this constantly. Everyday, all day, this would be awesome. Maybe scouts could have things like the recon cloak that made them invisible to the monsters.
