Crashed Game Won't Close

I am currently running SK on my laptop, and I've come to terms with my game sometimes crashing. This isn't the issue. The problem arises after the game crashes, because I am unable to get the program to close once it is frozen. I can open a new instance, and continue playing, but the previous frozen instance stays in the background.

I've tried using task manager to close both the program and its origin processes, but that doesn't seem to work. I'm currently using Windows 7, and I've read that it has some issues forcing a program to end, but this seems to be the only program that I can't force-close. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Troubleshooting a hard hung

Troubleshooting a hard hung process is tricky at best. I would suggest the shotgun approach, uninstall the game, uninstall Java, update your video drivers, reinstall java (JRE 6 or JRE7), then reinstall the game. If your using Steam, just reinstall the game since it includes its own java package.

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've done that before, with no change in the outcome. Has anybody else had this issue? I wonder if there is something in my computer configuration that I can't change, since this laptop has been issued to me by my school. I know that they've made some adjustments to it in order to run their programs. Maybe that is affecting this as well.

This isn't a large problem to me, more of a frustration. If others report it as well, then maybe it can be looked into more thoroughly.

Investigating would require

Investigating would require being able to replicate the error, and something like this tends to be something with the system. If you know someone taking a class in Java, you could try having them hook up a debugger and see if you can capture where its hanging/looping in the JVM.

I have this exact same

I have this exact same problem. All the GMs and technical experts I know couldn't fix it.

Any information at all on how to fix it would be helpful.
