I'm having majority lag spikes for about 5 minutes and it's not responding unless I reclient(sometime it doesn't work either). I've used command prompt to check ping on google.com and normally when Steam is not open, it is 21~29ms, and when it is open, it has large ping of 549~689ms average. Does Steam affect gameplay in Spiral Knights?
I'm running Spiral Knights with NVIDIA Geforce 6600, which the performance is really bad and in minimum requirement. I heard some people were saying that if a performance is bad while playing Spiral Knights, it affects other players including myself. I had a HD Radeon 4600 before and it doesn't really affect much lag spike during my days with this graphic card.
I'm living in Malaysia, mostly the ping to Spiral Knights can't be reached but I assume it's around 200ms+.
I apperiecate any help or suggestions to decrease effects of lag spike. For graphic card issues, I still have my previous computer which is well but I have to wait a few more days 'till I find a new network driver.
Close steam, launch the game directly and play as guest for a day... if there is any difference without steam you'll notice it.
Also the steam client has some options to disable syncs, updates, etc, try playing with those.
