Story:
Cradle's Comet, a large mass or radioactive Energy and Minerals, enters Cradle's proximity. The large gravitational pull from the comet has the power to rotate Cradle by its axis, causing Haven to face away from the sun (or suns).
But this doesn't mean that nothing can go wrong. Top Gremlin Scientists have tested the affects of the minerals... on their fellow friends...

Haven:
Haven would now be night time. Candles are scattered around for lighting. Arcade and ATH are unaffected.

New Level: Cradle Craters
I guess I forgot to tell you that pieces of the Comet have come off and crashed into the Cradle plains.
The layout is like the Crash Site level, except comet bits are scattered around. Getting near these will cause you shadow damage. It is also night time.

Monsters:
Some monsters are effected by the high radioactivity in the area. This Gives them more power, but less health. These monsters can drop special tokens, with can be traded for special costumes (which last for a limited time). Levels with radioactivity remarked with a blue border in the gate map.
Your visibility level is limited in these levels.

Levels that are at night:
Haven
Aura Isles
Jigsaw Valley
Clockwork Tunnels
Scarlet Fortress

It DOES NOT effect the tutorial level

After the weekend, the rotation of Cradle is 360 degrees, and the rotation stops.

Vote: how often do you want this event to happen? There's been some opinions andy can't decide DX

Sounds pretty nice actually, but how will this affect new comers when they find out their tutorial level has powerful enemies? Besides little blips and blops, I think it's so far pretty cool. Any idea how it could have some back story? Any Gremlin activity caused by this? Aesthetics aside, it's nice, unless someone objects...

very nice

a reason for this happening could be the energy levels in the core were getting to high so the gremlins made some device that channelled the energy to turning the cradle.this leads to extra energy being sent around and putting out the lights in the arcade and ATH.

maybe shock becomes a more common in most levels?

A nice idea that will work, Heavy-Duty I think it wont affect those levels and Spyash I think that adding more effects, not just shock to these "affected" levels is a great idea. No faults in this.

this

I like this. A simple random event that would be easy to implement, and would give some nice change of scenery.

I think it would be better as a yearly event than monthly

half

Maybe a half yearly event.

Maybe it could be on the equinoxes?

Nice thought Fropps

if the game COULD sync it to the equinoxes (I don't know if it can or not), THAT would be a event totally unique to this game.

SUGGESTION: Lunatic (Only available in these events, replacing Gremlin Scorchers)
DESCRIPTION: Although known for great mining skills, high Gremlin scientists tested radioactive crystals on them, and these once loyal Gremlins have turned hostile against their brethren. They turn specifically insane when light is not evident. This doesn't mean they're your friends, either.
ATTACK: They are capable of completely going bonkers on you. They go insane when you come into view, spams of running left and right, up and down, etc. They also tend to throw whatever they get a hold of. Yes, this means Crowns, boxes, vials, keys, other monsters, etc. and do pretty good damage from them. If they have no weapons, they tend to use pickaxes with low damage count. They drop crystals that they were once infused.
STATUS:
Red Crystal Infused Spikes: Fire
Blue Crystal Infused Spikes: Shock
Green Crystal Infused Spikes: Poison
Yellow Crystal Infused Spikes: Stun
Purple Crystal Infused Spikes: Rare chance of Curse

Why half-yearly? Why not at

Why half-yearly?

Why not at the end/start of each month, so we see it for a bit?

Or just sync up the day/night with server time? (Second thought, add our own time zones, so wr can see it more?)

Morning-Afternoon: 7AM-5:30 PM
Evening: 5:31 PM-7:59 PM
Night/Knight: 8:00 PM-6:59 AM

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Maybe?
