This morning i finished off crafting my Vog set Helm and chest.
For weapons at the moment i carry
Avenger
Dark Thorn Blade
and a Gigawatt Pulsar
I also have a Acended Calibur
I grabbed a Freezing Vaporizer but have not crafted it yet and also have not used any bombs but i want to try

Now i have 20 jelly jem and was thinking about picking up another Sealed Sword and crafting a Faust.
With the weapons i have i have no shadow damage.

What I was going for is a set that I can jump on anytime and not have too hard of time playing. I am still a noob in many ways but have done
a ton of tier 2 stuff.
Very enjoyable game btw. Eventually ill find a guild to join up with to have fun too.

Now enough tangent
Is it worth it to pick up Faust.
I would finish all my tier 4 items but i read somwhere on the forums that the dps does not increase that much from tier 4 to 5 so i thought i would expand my arsenal

I could also be thinking completely wrong and need to update everything i have to tier 5.

What way should i go

Yes, you want a piercing weapon, an elemental weapon, and a shadow weapon. Gran Faust and Acheron are both great; I prefer Acheron somewhat. How many weapon slots are you going to use? I usually just play with three swords, but a fourth weapon slot with an elemental gun is very useful, especially against turrets.

Now that you have multiple non-normal damage types of swords, there is no particular reason to pursue your Calibur. Shivermist Buster is a fantastic weapon, particularly in Firestorm Citadel.

When you say "tier", I think you mean "star"? On Stratum 6, 5-star weapons do significantly more damage than 4-star weapons, and they are often qualitatively different. For example, the Avenger's 1-bolt charge attack changes into the Divine Avenger's 3-bolt charge attack. Yes, you will want to upgrade everything to 5-star eventually.

I have 3 weapon slots at the

I have 3 weapon slots at the moment. Calibur was just the original sword i leveled up and do not use it.
So i need a shadow weapon. I have the jelly jems so grabbing it would be easyer than picking up a brandish as it
is a slow sword like the avenger so I can just be used to the two swing and learn how to shild and combo easyer.

Any use picking up antigua or having my pulsar good for now?

Your plan to work toward Gran Faust, rather than Acheron, is fine. But I will say one thing: There is no particular reason to restrict yourself to one sword feel. I'm not particularly good at games, and I have no problem switching among swords of different feels, many times per minute.

Antigua ends up at Argent Peacemaker and Sentenza. These guns are undesirable, because they do two kinds of non-normal damage. I do not recommend them. However, there is a forum thread right now, started by the game developers, about changing their damage types to pure elemental and pure shadow. If that change is made, then we will have to reconsider them.

In general, if you carry only one gun, then the most useful damage type for that gun is elemental, because all turrets are vulnerable (gun puppies, howlitzers) or neutral (polyps) to elemental damage. So your Pulsar, properly upgraded to Polaris (not Supernova), is good.

I do just fine without ANY piercing weapon :)

what i have on my now

I do sometimes swap a sword for my levi.
For example fiend lvls i run with DA, polaris and levi, wolver dens the same but with the gran faust

so if you like the way the avenger swings(get yourself some ASI it's becomes even better haha) and you like the combo go for gran faust. if you like the calibur combo more then the avenger go for archeron (keep in mind GF can curse on second hit and the charge CAN curse you to)

IF you think you lack piercing (all piercing swords have the same combo so doesn't matter) get yourself a snarby sword (forgot the name but you can buy it with snarby tokens at brinks) and see if you like the combo for it. (beasts and fiends are weak to piercing so if you feel you need a extra boost against them... otherwise use your faust/calibur on beasts and avenger/calibur on fiends)

for the bombs i can't help you i also started a shivermist but i never upgraded it past 3* because i never use bombs. so take your bomb and run some T1 with it to get a feel of how it works (the higher * the bigger the radius)

Nobody needs a piercing weapon; everybody can do just fine without a piercing weapon. Also, everybody can do just fine without an elemental weapon. Also, everybody can do just fine without a shadow weapon. But having a diverse loadout makes the game easier and, I find, more fun.
