Hello! I have been playing Spiral Knights quite a long time, and have noticed some new bugs. Also, some old that have not been fixed. This is also a discussion for balance issues I seem to be having. Let's get right to it!

~~BUGS~~

1. Boost, Special Items Merchant
It seems that when you try to sell an item to this merchant, nothing shows up. Not even a message that says (!) "This items is not tradable!" or "(!) This item cannot be sold".

2. Calibur-line combo - final hit
In the combo of the Calibur line, including the Cold Iron part of it, if you hit the same enemy twice with the combo, the third hit misses unless an enemy is against a wall or currently running in your general direction. The weapon seems to go RIGHT through the enemy, and misses entirely, ending up in you not knocking down the enemy, and them probably hitting you instead. In the case of a Leviathan or a Cold Iron Vanquisher, the weapon does literally go right through them. I have reported this bug, but for some reason others said you needed to use a "trick" to get the third hit. If you need a "trick" to make something work correctly, it is bugged.

3. Third/Second combo hit vs poisoned enemy w/ weakness to weapon you use
Whenever you hit an enemy with the final hit in of your combo, the enemy is poisoned, and your enemy is weak to your weapon, the last hit doesn't show up as a critical hit, or BOLD and YELLOW, it shows up as a normal hit, WHITE and NORMAL. I used Faust on this one, I am not sure if it's the same with weapons without the same combo.

4. Quitting while Logging in
If you try to quit when you are logging in, then press back at the character selection screen, your screen will freeze for a second and then turn completely black. The only way to exit is ALT+TAB and CTRL+ALT+DELETE.

5. Bonus Heat not showing up until after next level load
I have the Double Heat thing, and it gives me a bar saying BONUS HEAT when I complete a level. Then, when you have loaded the next area, your items will have more heat. Not a game crashing bug, I know, but I hate not knowing if my items level up or not.

~~MONSTER BALANCE~~

1. Mecha Knights
a. They have WAY too much health (the problem), and tend to destroy everything seeing as they do a ton of damage (I understand the damage).
b. Their spin attack charges up SUPER fast, and depending on the element of the enemy, it could freeze you, and hit you again. If they can charge up spin attacks that fast, I want to as well. Or you could fix this.
c. Their shields are invincible. 'Nuff said.

2. Tree Constructs
I have noticed recently that they tend to attack WAY faster than before, and I do not have enough time to bring my shield up.

3. Turret Puppies
It might be a bug, but their bullets seem to hit you outside your hitboxes. I have been hit many bullcrap times......and it's annoying.

4. Butterfly Fiends (not the healer ones)
They seem to stick to you, and have a very large attack range.

5. Lichen
The smallest lichen do WAY too much damage for their size, and it makes it harder to keep it from merging into bigger ones with the others....

6. Spiked Jellies
Their spin attack is extremely fast, and the leap forward makes it VERY hard to tell who it's going to hit.

7. Yesman/Boss (Fiends)
They are like sitting ducks, and it can make the fiend levels not nearly as challenging.

8. Small fiends
When they throw something, whatever they throw goes about 50 MPH, making it VERY hard for them to miss.

9. Bomb Gremlins
They set so many bombs that you can barely hit them. If you try to shoot them, they dodge.

10. Gremlins in general
If their health is low, they dodge all the time, making them super hard to hit, and very frustrating.

~~ITEM BALANCE~~

1. Guns in General
The reload seems to hinder people a TON. I have an idea....make it so you can run while reloading.

2. Autogun Line
a. Not being able to move while shooting SERIOUSLY hinders your ability to live.
b. When you shoot something, it comes straight towards you, making the gun a total piece of crap.

3. Faust Curse
The charge attack on Faust curses you EXTREMELY frequently, probably near the 50% chance mark, making the charge attack too dangerous because you will probably die.

4. Cold Iron line
It doesn't do very much damage, and the undead damage bonus is NOT worth it.

5. Plate Armor line
Until you get to 5-star, the set is TERRIBLE. If something hits you with anything but normal damage, you are done for. The slower attack speed also pretty much gets you destroyed on a minute-ly basis.

~~OTHER BALANCE~~

1. Spikes
a. I find it ridiculous that spikes can do about 4 pips of damage to new players on tier 2.
b. When you get hit by spikes and are forced to drop the item you are holding, then you either break the vial you are holding or have to go back, most of the time resulting in wasted time waiting for them to retreat into their holes, or wasted health just trying to get the key back. It also interrupts charge attacks which is annoying.

2. Shock Status Effect
It freezes you in place, does damage, pretty much makes you a sitting duck. Constructs can transfer it to you, making it extremely annoying.

THANK YOU to all who read the entire thing! I would love your opinions, but please do not comment on the balance, normal players get absolutely destroyed all the time because of this stuff.

1. this is rather an overlook than a bug
3. numbers are always bugged, even more when the attack gets too powerfull, try divine avenger charge on zombies.

monster balance
1. what? mecha knights?
2. the deeper you go the faster they are and shield against them is stupid, i'd rather move
3. never noticed this, could be lag?
4. sticking to you? that's their trait, they wouldn't be enemies if they run away
5. lulz, they do normal instead of pierce
6. oh really!?!
7. You mean the yesman and boss.. you dont understand what they do, do you?
8. i should stop reading by now

item balance
1. learn how to use a gun
2. go up
3. seriously?
4. FINALLY SOMETHING SERIOUS
5. only set with full normal, leave it

other
1. there's something called waiting for the spikes to go down and not getting hit
2. by now, i have to assume you're either trolling or want the game to feel like a walk in the park

So 80% of the stuf is remedied by gaining skills over time, stay in T1 until you feel more comfortable. Thank you for understanding

Jaunces....

Jaunces....

Monster Balance:
1. I fixed the name.
3. Might be.
5. Did you read it? Your response made no sense...
6. Yes........they kill me all the time.
7. Fixed the name. I know they promote and demote fiends, it's just that the small ones are easy to kill.
8. The fireballs in fire stratums are mainly what I mean. Hard to dodge, and they catch you on fire....
9. They should set less bombs....everyone hates them.
10. This is one of the most annoying things on the planet.

Item Balance:
2. What!? Go up?! o.O
3. I am serious.
4. I told you, I am serious.
5. If no one wants to use it, it is obviously because it is underpowered.

Other:
1. If you lag like me, spikes are the most annoying things ever....
2. OK the Shock seamed more like a whine than a balance issue.

It's not skills. This is real, serious stuff. You can totally ignore ~~OTHER BALANCE~~ 2, though.

Lag is a serious problem, and

Lag is a serious problem, and it sounds like most of your problems stem from lag. There are a number of different kinds of lag: graphical lag, server distance latency, and ISP-related lag.
Graphical lag is when your screen gets herky-jerky when lots of monsters and projectiles are on screen, and can be remedied by getting a more powerful system or cleaning up your existing system.
Server distance latency usually presents itself as a yellow or red bar, and events happen ~200-500 milliseconds afterwards on screen. This cannot be fixed, and the best you can do is get used to the delay between performing an action and play defensively.
ISP-related lag refers to your connection being iffy, overloaded or otherwise unreliable. You might be able to switch ISPs, but it's a gamble as there's no guarantee it'll help. With this one you're likely to be SOL as well.

Diagnosing which sort of lag you have is important- often times, players will suffer from both graphic lag, and a little bit of server lag. The best way to tell is run different multiplayer games with different system requirements. For example, if you can play WoW with little or no lag, the problem is likely with server distance. If a graphically easy game runs, but a more intense game is jerky, you might need a more powerful computer, or cleanse your system of bloatware.

I suspect you may have an easier time if you clear up your lag issues or find a way to adapt. Otherwise, I agree with Juances- the game has ALREADY been made considerably easier in many areas. If you keep getting stomped outside of Tier 1, you need better equipment and more practice, usually the latter.
