A lot of people out there dont like spiral knights because they think that it has a tedious gamebplay. Ive played it for some months and I actually agree. After some weeks it turns repetitive, it has some balance issues.

The same thing over and over
In order to be at the same level as other MMO´s this dungeon riding style of gameplay has to change a lot. Going to the clockworks turns repetitive very quickly. Theres not much change there, and if you want to make a decent profit you should do boss runs, turning this even more repetitive.

My suggestion: An outer world and quests. Most MMORgs´s are about exploring and, even when clockworks change every so often, Spiral Knights doesnt give you that sense of adventure. All you do is go around on the same dungeons doing the same stuff. With an outer world you would have a big place to explore, and quests will vary the things you do daily

Gear
Right now 5 star guys can fight the snarbolax with their skolver set, their BTB, whatever trinket they want and beat him as fast as a lichen. Thats why nobody takes the snarbolax seriously (yes its T1 I know but still), hes an easy boss everybody says. And it is a giant wolf-like animal whith 6 eyes. Im not saying 5 star gear shouldnt be allowed on T1, but if they expand the arsenal to higher stars 6 star people would walk to snarby hit 1 time and get their prizes. If this doesnt change this game has no way to expand.

My suggestion: This game should expand at some time, if not then it has no future, people are already complaining about no high level content. Gear with more stars, and in order to do that high star gear shouldnt be allowed on low tiers. 0-5 stars for T1, 0-7 stars for T2, 0-9 T3, etc.

Agreed. An outer world is

Agreed.
An outer world is everything spiral knights needs. Even if it doesn't give you any profits, it'd still be a great way of doing something else than repeating boss runs.
Either that, or A LOT MORE bosses; we have 4, but 9 should do the trick, 3 bosses for each tier. A real chalenges for the devs, considering we only have 6 monster families...

I guess an open world is much easier to create than 5 new, original bosses. (speaking of new bosses... why the heck was tortodrone removed?)

About your gear suggestion, IMO it's kinda pointless...
"If someone gives you 5 star gear for whatever reason"
-really, who in the world GIVES ppl 5 star gear? unless it's a friend, I don't know many ppl who would...
"or you manage to get it with real money"
-If a person WANTS to spend money on a game they like, it's really that person's problem, only.
Another con:
If ppl would like to change their character's name but they've already made some progress in the game, it would be really easy to unbind stuff and send them to their newborn character. If your suggestion was implemented, it wouldn't.
Yes, it WOULD make the game a bit more chalenging, but it wouldn't help most people, plus, it'd make SK much more like every single MMO out there.

Changing it so that knights

Changing it so that knights level wouldn't take grinding out of the game, it would add even more. That is just so completely against what Spiral Knights is about, it's not even funny. I like this game BECAUSE there is no leveling, except for your gear. No trying to get to the next level because, even though you have all the money and materials, you can't craft a weapon because you aren't a high enough level. I would actually sto playing if that was implemented, and I don't think I would be the only one.

Lol the thing about someone

Lol the thing about someone giving you 5 star stuff is just an example of how, with the right circumstances, is easy to "beat" the game. I know theres no crazy people who gives free stuff to stangers.

You also said that if someone wants to spend money on the game its their problem. The thing is that paying is only supossed to give you an advantage and not actually beating the game for you.

Knight´s level: I know this would make SK like other MMO, but this would open doors to a lot of stuff, Like Skillz for example.

I havent hear complains about not allowing high star weapons on low tiers, but ill take the opportunity to explain. Lets say they expand the weapons up to 10 stars, 10 star things wouldnt be allowed on tier 1 and maybe not even on tier 2. That way you wont be able to go do a 1 hit KO and get your prize. Perhaps this is the only thing that should get implemented and not the knights level O_O

I think it needs more

I think it needs more missions. I mean, when the new players come out of the Rescue Camp, they expect to be going on quests to do various things. But no. I think you should get missions from NPCs, like ones from Wegner to deposit X amount of minerals into a gate today, or from Feron to kill X amount of X type of monsters today. There could be mission chains, like ones to motivate people to get up Tiers: "Obtain a 2-star shield to gain access to Tier 2" or "Complete 7 more Tier 2 levels to gain access to Tier 3". Maybe there'd be scavenger hunt-type ones, like ones a Core terminal Knight might ask you to search for clues of Alpha Squad's disappearance in Clockwork Tunnels, Blast Furnaces, Power Complexes, Deconstruction Zones, and Spiral Courts to find 8 clues.

I do mention quests in my

I do mention quests in my post. I should especify what kind of quests im talking about

Example 1:
In the outer world you ll find a gremlin living in some kind of hut next to a graveyard like thing. Hell say hes the graveyard caretaker (you get the idea) and he will tell you that a fearsome ghost has been messing around on the graveyard. So you have to enter the catacombs, pass some few levels and fight a mini-boss thingy. You need T2 clearance to do this quest and you can only do it one time, then you claim your prize with the graveyard caretaker maybe some 5k crowns.

Example 2:
You find a farm and a Mecha-farmer. Hes taking care of some scuttlebots but the cages opened and now they are scattered around. You have to guide the non agressive scuttlebots to their respective cages. This is a T1 quest. After you do that the mecha farmer will give you a trinket called "Farmer´s tool" wich gives you damage bonus low to scuttlebots. This isnt Op and its also a good introduction to trinkets for newbies.

Something like that, not just grinding quests. Quests like the ones you said Alphacommando are really frustrating. If youve ever played Sherwood Dungeon you know what im talking about, every next quest is the same: kill X amount of Y enemies. and then the game goes nowhere. With an outer world the posibilities are endless.

You do realize that things

You do realize that things actualy level down for lower tiers right? The only thing that changes is the bonous that the stuff gives you, skolver gives you med attack with swords and lower only gives you low. I know trinkets give them a bit of an advantage but when facing Snarb they could have 2* stuff and still rock him becuase he is an simple boss. Most of the advantage they have is from experience, and not just from gear(which does help alot) but from actulay playing the game and learning how to fight better.(I did not read any of the responses so i'm sorry if i repeded some of the stuff people said earlier, also i did not read the first point but i have to go to bed.)

Let's alter the formula

"You do realize that things actualy level down for lower tiers right?"
The gear may be reduced in power on lower tiers but it's not reduced enough.
It's easy to try it with weapons since we have numbers to compare.

Also there's the fact that T1 is supposed to be all normal, yet our weapons can do special damage. This could be altered too.

"Also there's the fact that T1 is supposed to be all normal, yet our weapons can do special damage."

I don't think it would matter too much because the only tier 1 special damage is the hot edge / static edge 1 star swords. Most don't even waste their time with those anyway and just jump to the cheap 2 star gear, which is designed for tier 2 and would need the special damage.

Or do you mean make every weapon do normal damage there to compensate a little bit for every monster doing normal damage? I think tier 1 is way too simple also once you get say a 2 star flourish for snarbolax, the charge attack one shots wolvers.

I think Nacho's suggestions have a lot of merit

The came can become a little boring. Mini-quests or searches for items that allow you into closed off areas would be very cool.

@Tuhui. Yes i know that

@Tuhui. Yes i know that happens but as Juances said its not reduced enough. I also said that the game should expand. If they add weapons with more stars then high star weapons would have much more than a little advantage.

The damage would still be

The damage would still be reduced and the only things that would really be effected would be bombs. Alot of our domonance of tier 1 is that we actualy know how to play the game. The biggest difference is we have fought the hardest and when you go back to tier 1 you laugh because the enemies are so weak. Also the enemies get weaker attacks in tier 1. Kats don't have a ranged, retrodes don't have a ranged, mech knights don't have a shield or spin attack(it is like brandish charges), alfa wolvers don't attack sometimes when the move to behind you, the attacking gremlins don't have a second swing, and jellys don't attack froward and actaualy go backwards. Tier 1 is the beggining, things there will seem like childs play to Tier 3 people because it is.
