This one is a bit of a stretch, so here me out on this one.
I love this game to bits, but at times it really feels like the main goal of the game is to get at my pocketbook more than to be a good game. I get that this started as a way to primarily fund OOO, and now that SEGA owns them I'm sure they're not at all sad to see some more revenue. However, I, and I'm sure I'm not the only one of this persuasion, feel that it's a little ridiculous at this point. Shadow keys at large CE prices, Buy-only elevator passes that give essentially limitless crowns, buy-only things like the old Chapeaus and Explorer Hats. Things like the inclusion of Energy Blasts also seem like a way to urge people into spending more and more CE.
I'm not sure how well this would go over to the higher-ups, but why not try out merchandising? Coupled with the current micro-transaction fueled economy, it could tap into more revenue in what would be considered a less intrusive manner [People who want merchandise can get some, but it's not a facet of the game per-se, just flavor]. I'm just saying a source of income secondary to the game itself would put pressure off the company to constantly 'sweeten the deal' of Energy purchases with things like bonuses and such, which dissuade new players who have no inclination of paying and wear thin the patience of seasoned players who just payed to get a shiny new thing last month [metaphorically speaking, of course].
Besides, I can't be alone in thinking I really want a Love Puppy plushy or t-shirts or whatnot. Demand is there!
Also, if the higher-ups don't approve, for some reason, I understand. Feedback is appreciated! Remember when you guys used to put up monthly updates as to what's upcoming? What happened to those? We want to hear you! Holiday surprises are one thing, but I'd be disappointed if the devs retained relative silence toward the playerbase.
Thoughts in the thread also appreciated, my two cents, etc.
I'd be willing to pay for life-size replicas of SK weapons.
