I'm too lazy to try to math the materials and the heat costs but just going from the cost to craft and the cost of recipes at a Crowns to CE value of 3700/100, a buyer would already be saving 86 CE by buying a premade Ashtail Coat at 1100 CE. Again, completely ignoring materials, heat, and the time/effort to get recipes and otherwise do it yourself. For people just "starting off" who have a lot of CE and want to get four star gear quickly (since 5 star is way more expensive and 4* is all that's needed for T3 anyway) this seems like a good deal to me.
