I like your hat!

The most common choice I see is Wolver. Wolver -> Dusker -> Ash Tail will get you far. However, it really doesn't matter as long as you pick a helm that can be upgraded to 5* (There are a few exceptions, but none you should worry about right now).

My biggest suggestion over everything else is this: DO NOT RUSH TO TIER 3! If you are improperly equipped, you will start loosing crowns via t3 runs, instead of gaining them. Take your time and make sure all your favorite toys are 4* before proceeding.

What other equipment do you have? From said equipment I can further suggest things.

Tell us your gear. Can't help

Tell us your gear. Can't help what doesn't exist. Also your weapons and what you use most of the time.

okay

So you use two weapon slots at a time. One weapon is sword, and the other is gun. This is the most important information.

Your armor is on the path to being gunner armor. So consider making your helmet sworder, of the complementary damage type. For example, if your armor ends up at Nameless (elemental), then make your helmet Skolver (piercing). I always advise new players to build a general-purpose armor set, before building more specialized ones.

Also, be aware that the game developers are considering changing the damage types of Argent Peacemaker and Sentenza (the 5-star versions of Antigua). You might not want to upgrade that gun, until you know for sure what you're getting.

Finally, if you haven't already done so, read the wiki page on Damage, to learn the monster vulnerabilities and resistances. You will conclude that you want to carry two (or three) non-normal damage types at a time. So, for example, if Sentenza becomes pure shadow and you upgrade in that direction, then you'll have too much shadow weaponry and not enough piercing or elemental.

Take it slow!

You don't need to make a general purpose armor sense, but its the most inexpensive option. What I did was impulse buy every recipe I saw and wanted. Then, I turned the Jelly King into a fine pinkish goo more times than I wish to count. It will take a while, but the reward is a huge arsenal for every situation you would ever encounter.

I would still suggest the Wolver Cap just because it makes that nightblade a bit stronger, and give you some armor against Jelly pierce attacks.
