so my bomber LD setup is: mad set, VT, Voltedge, Nitro.
LD swordsmen: vog set, DA, BTB, Voltedge.
but im sorta bored of both and was thinking of investing in some new armor. i dont want to go for the any of the Generic Wolver line set. maybe somehting a little out of the ordinary but packs a punch? also not wanting to get trinkets. any ideas?

dude.
have u ever tried spamming trollaris? nobody will ever get near you. l do it with the gwatt and survived until somebody changed into vog striker anfd killed me with a FF. then my team came from behind and slaughtered everyone. in t2, i did magnus recon, if u do it right, its OP. u hide, shoot once, and dissapear. they never know what hit them. until they guess it cuz nothing else can hit like that.

A really good gunner in LD
A really good gunner in LD can run circles around everyone else... but you have to be REEEEEEEEAAALLY good. You also have to have the Shadowsun set, trinkets, and use an Umbra Driver to even try to be competitive. There's very little variety and an extremely high learning curve; as a gunner myself, I'd recommend against it.
If you're already bombing with the Mad set, why not try using Sun Shards? They can be pretty nasty in LD too, I've seen. Depending on your trinkets, you may even be able to go striker without too much trouble, which is hilarious.

I say try full bomber. I heard someone decimated an entire team with VT and DBB, but I am not completely sure if it is true. I would say VT, Vortex, and DBB for an inescapable damage trap. Vortexes (Vortices?) do work quite well in lockdown, and when used with a status bomb, it can mean the end for one poor soul.
Or, you could try Hybrid bomb/gunner like vinrules.

Pwnage armor
If you really wanna pwn with an armor set that protects from all damage types and most statuses: go Divine Veil and Skolver. For weapons go BTB, Archeron, Shivermist Buster, Polaris

The Nameless ASI bonus isn't
The Nameless ASI bonus isn't really very good for LD, I'd suggest the shadowsun set, as there are so many FF/BTB spamming skolvers flying around. The damage bonus also beats the ASI bonus, anyways. And I'd use AP/Sentenza in place of callahan, but that's just me.

Yup, AP/Sentenza is actually an amazing gun main arm even though they do lesser dmg comparing with alchemers. However, the fact that it has 6 slots, insane speed, unavoidable bullets and flexibility makes it so easy to use. The most amazing part is that it can interrupt ppl's attack and even provides a little KB. So when you spam AP (esp on a guardian), you can pretty much pin them down and annoy the hell out of them.
a gunner set? with sentenza, polaris, and an alchemer?
