Hi guys,

I'm relatively new to the game and feel I may have been to hasty and selecting gear.

I have a wolver set with the cap upgraded to dusker, but the coat is wolver. I thought I was going the sword route and ended up making an ascended calibur, only to realize this is better for someone going the bomb direction. I do have a freezing vaporizer and was thinking maybe going the bomb route so I can use my levithan to supplement my bombs.

So, the question comes down to...If I have started along the wolver set path, and have an ascended calibur. Is it best to just finish off these sets to there level 5 and then specialize (skolver/levithan).

Or is it time to rethink my gear and start building a new sword to use along with the calibur line?

Or should I use the calibur along with the shivermist path and get armor that is bombing (volcanic/skolver cap)?

Sorry for the jumbled post maybe when I have time I can clarify and re-write.

Most of the cost of making a 5-star item comes in the final upgrade, from 4-star to 5-star (see here). So, even if you're at 4-star, it is still not too late to change alchemy lines. Don't throw good money after bad, as they say.

There is nothing wrong with switching to bomber, or staying with sworder. A Shivermist is one of the favorite side weapons for a sworder anyway.

If you want to stay with mainly swords: Don't get rid of your Ascended Calibur, but don't upgrade it, either. Start work on a set of better swords, or mixed swords/guns, or swords/bombs, or whatever you like. Perhaps my sword guide will be helpful.

If you want to switch to mainly bombs: Keep your Ascended Calibur, and upgrade it after you've gotten your other bomber equipment to 4-star. Read the Bombing Guide on the wiki.

.

It's definitely not too late to change. A 5* item can cost literally over 100 times as much as a 2* item.

Experimenting with different equipment at the 2-3* level to see what you like is actually a great idea (with the caveat that things aren't quite the same at the 5* level). Don't continue upgrading an item you don't like.

Nobody "needs" a levi. Nobody

Nobody "needs" a levi. Nobody "needs" a certain weapon. All they really need, is a weapon they enjoy using.

Most people prefer to have optimal equipment, but don't go around telling bombers they "need" a levi.
