Let me just say it now: It's way too Overpowered in Lockdown.
I can barely stand playing a game when everyone has one and I keep going down in one hit, when I'm a Defender! It's way to OP and just isn't fair on the receiving end.
Please fix this

If you're going down in one
If you're going down in one hit, you're playing in the wrong tier. Make sure you have at least 2-3* armor and weapons (all 3* would be ideal) before attempting T2, and the scale it up for T3. I have never, EVER gone down in one hit, even when I'm wearing all my T2 stuff but forget to unequip my shield and get bumped into T3. So I don't know whats going on with you.

Yeah you probably have only 2 star stuff right? That would probably be it and yes, the game is very stupid is this aspect in that it wants you to progress out of tier 1 as soon as possible but also makes it that when you hit tier 2 it will take weeks depending on how much you play before you stand a chance in tier 2 lockdown. And trust me, tier 3 is worse where once you hit tier 3 it takes forever to be able to survive. Anyway, it's a major flaw that many people like to defend because they can beat up new people.
Anyway, the best advice I can give you for now is to do JK runs and then get the armor and helmet. Both have very high pierce resistance and should help you out.

As I'm using armor with Piercing defense on it, I'm more concerned about getting literally 2-shotted by Strikers wielding Gran Fausts. :[
The first hit, if not blocked, deals exactly 50% of my health. The second hit deals more damage than the first.

So the fact that there are other good players out there who know their stuff makes the game stupid?
Tier 2 lockdown is kinda a profession, (as is tier 3) If you haven't got the grips of the tier 2 weaponry, you won't stand a chance against other players who have. It's that simple. Hop into tier 1 lockdown until you're proficient with all your 2 star stuff (a.k.a, have them upgraded to 3 star)

Its not overpowered, there are good swords and bad swords in the game. I've beaten plenty of players using a tsb with sealed sword and vice versa. Other swords are just now starting to get some use out of them, the brandish line comes to mind. Things will progress and the gap will close, but playing in teir 2 without 3* gear is just not how to play.
If you're using guardian and dying in 1 hit, you are playing the game wrong for sure, as guardian is the most op of all the classes in any group fight and on equal terms with striker for 1v1.
The Removal/ Fix of Piercing Swords(Snarble Barb/Flourish Lines) will just cause an Up-Roar with Players. Some will say you just Suck or to get some Piercing Defence, but it won't Help.
Just play some T1 Lockdown, where the Only things you have to Worry about are Heavy Sword & Trinket Users.
