So I (finally) got myself a Skolver Coat + Divine Veil set and my friend (whom I will not mention) was saying stuff like "Are you [feeling quite all right]?" and "VOG CUB ALL DA WAY". Anyways, I just want to know why Skolver + Divine sucks?

If someone says it sucks, then they're just another narrow-minded Wolver Clone who won't go far in life.
Skolver+Divine can do things that Vog Cub couldn't dream of doing, and you don't need weapon spec. bonuses to rule the world in SK. Just ask all the people who run SLs with Skelly sets. Vog Cub doesnae go far in there, yo.

If he does, then he should say "that sucks in FSC", which it actually doesn't. It's not the best FSC loadout, but all things considered it's not bad, and it lends a shock res. for Trojan farts that Vog Cub lacks.
He shouldn't be telling someone that another set "just sucks" because he's got nothin' better to do than spam FSC every day and never touches any other weapon class. If that's not the case then he's even worse for it.

I would see what he means for FSC but I don't normally do FSC. For FSC, I'm thinking about building towards a vog cub coat and a dragon scale helm + Dragon scale shield. On a side note, why isn't there a helmet to go with the Radiant Silvermail?

..For FSC. I thought the same thing in the old days, that it'd rock, but w/o normal defence and no shadow defence, it won't stand up very nicely in there, and will fold like wet paper against Vana. Alas, my first 5* shield sits in my arsenal, begging to me used again ;(
Why Dragonscale Helm though? Just for the fire res?
And not sure why about the R.silvermail; few threads on it before, but I guess they just wanted some wildcard equipment; the Divine Veil, for example, has a bonus that its set doesn't, the Volc.Demo set have different degrees of bonuses...

Using armor just for the fire
Using armor just for the fire resist is sorta pointless. Pierce and elemental are essentially useless in FSC except for walking on traps. You could buy yourself a soaking wetstone and get the same benefit. Dragon Scale has its uses, but FSC isn't one of them.
Skolver + Divine is a good general set if you only have one since it has normal, pierce, elemental, shadow, freeze, fire, shock, and curse. You'll reduce damage and status for almost everywhere in the clockworks.
However, if you build more gear in the future, specific sets are better since they better protect against attacks that you are currently going to take. For example, Crown/Armor of the Fallen has 2xnormal, 2xshadow, 2xfire, 2x poison, -2xcurse. That is pretty dang good for FSC protection since most damage is normal, shadow, and fire.

You don't NEED to build a Dragon Scale helm for fire resistance, you've already got a Divine Veil! That's got the same fire resistance and better defense types for FSC.
@Nordlead: Technically you'd need two Soaking Wetstones to get the same fire resistance as one piece of 5* armor.

vog is stupid for these reasons:
1. too much time and money to make

1. DA costs the same to make. So does voltedge. So does final flourish. So does skolver. So does any 5c equipment.
2. Prices for 5* items are always going to be too much to buy from ah if you havn't put in a decent amount of time/cash.
3. Asi is a great attribute. Why do people get asi trinkets?
4. I suppose plate mails are real defence? Good luck taking retrode beams and rockets to the face. It doesn't even look that good.
The reason most say it sucks is because it is not specialized... but what they might not know is that it is better to have a little defense in each of a split type attack then a lot in one...
In other words, the armor set you have will stand up to a lot more diversity then the vog would...
