im working on geting my first 5* set and i was wondering what the best route for a general perpose gear set. my curent gear is

weapons:
acheron (cdv low)
avenger
grand florish (cdr low)
virulent catalyzer (for buttons and kiting, i dont know what would be better)

armor:
ash tail cap
ash tail coat (increase shadow def low)
wise owlite sheild (increase normal def low)

all my armor is almost lvl 10 and my weapons are lvl 7+. would it be better to go vog or go skolvor for general purpose?
what gun is best for a sword user?

not an arsenal question

Your question is not about gear, so it's not an Arsenal forum question. It's about farming for crowns, so it goes in the General forum, where there have already been many threads like this. Please move this thread.

The short answer is that FSC is generally the best place to farm heat and crowns. So if you can do it, then do it. Until you get too bored.

In general, Stratum 6 is most lucrative, followed by Stratum 4 I think. Arenas are really lucrative; if an arena-rich stratum appears, farm it as much as possible, to avoid making FSC too tedious. RJP is pretty good.

As far as I know, soloing does not help heat or crowns, because all party members get all of the heat and crowns that show up. In fact, the Prize Wheel money seems to be distributed too, so partying in a group increases your Prize Wheel winnings. It also increases your income from minerals. On the other hand, it decreases your materials, because those are split up among the party members. See the wiki article "Party" to learn more.

Sidearm for Swordsmen

Generally, the polaris is the go to sidearm for sword users. The polaris allows them to take down turrets without charging through the bullet hell that puppies tend to make in T3. The expanded bullets interrupt turrets, pausing and stopping their attacks. The polaris is upgraded from the pulsar, a token reward from the boss Roarmulous Twins.

The 2nd sidearm is an alchemer. Nova, magma, storm, and hail. Hail is useless, as alchemers go. Alchemers have ricocheting bullets starting at 3*, the mkII version of it. Nova is all damage, magma deals fire, storm deals shock. These are harder to use, but more party friendly. You can use alchemers on normal monsters, whereas a polaris will be extremely annoying and screw your party up.

response

As Demonicsothe said, an elemental gun is the single best kind of gun as a sidearm for sworders.

Your Vog Cub vs. Skolver question is asked all the time. My answer can be found in my sword guide.
