Failing to Connect to Server?

I recently tried to log on to Spiral Knights after not having done so for a day or two. I noticed a couple things:
First off, trying to simply bring up the game while having a internet page open with another game caused both to die
- obviously this is normal if one's computer sucks as much as mine but the problem started after I tried starting up the game again, with everything else closed this time
Second, the window it opened didn't say Spiral Knights, instead it said "projectx" but still brougt up the log in screen
And thirdly, when trying to log in for the past two days I have been met with the "Failed to connect to server"
- this part I also found odd, because for me in the past, it takes the computer a good coupla seconds before it says it can't connect, like when the server's rebooting, but this time it immediately gave em the message, which I found odd

Any help or suggestions? Am I just ignorant and the server is down or something?

From where are you launching Spiral Knights? Is it the main website, Kongregate, Steam, or the desktop shortcut?

If you right-click the shortcut and look at its properties, what's listed in the "Target" field? It should be something like:

"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -jar getdown-pro.jar .

If it isn't, you got a weird desktop shortcut from... somewhere. Starting Spiral Knights from the website should still work if this is the case.

Yeah, I got that in the target field. Starting from the website results in the same problems. Should I try re-installing the game?

It works!

So I reinstalled it and it works; no more projectx stuff, just plain ol' Spiral Knights. Anyways, in case you're interested, before trying to reinstall it I tried logging in with the wrong password. This to gave me the "failed to connect crap" as well, so whatever was screwin' it up prevented it from even seeing if my password and account and stuff were legit. No clue why, but I'm glad I can play the game again, so thanks!
