I've found that sometimes while playing, downtime notifications will go by without me even noticing. That is, until someone finally notices at around 5 mins. until the server is about to go down, and we all simulataneously go "F#@^" because our clockwork diving plans were smashed in the face!

So here is my suggestion:
Can a small non-intrusive banner of text(say, in the top left below the settings/friend/mail/help icons) pop up with a countdown until the server goes down? Something like this, possibly in a red-colored font, would help all players be better warned of server downtime.

The current notice system is

The current notice system is fine. I'd prefer they throw backbone into actual important updates rather than something to accomodate the two or three people who can't read chat boxes.
