I appreciate the missions system, which seems to be doing this a bit, and if its not, please angle it to help them greatly (give them missions with high rewards toward the begining? perhaps even throw in a brandish as a reward or something?). But I'd like to recommend helping T1 players even more.. There are many ways that I can think of to help them, but I'm certain that you- OOO- can think of many better ways, or just read the forums and find one.

You're probably right, but if they don't do more to hook new players they're losing potential customers.
Practically every P2P player started out as F2P because we want to see if it's any good before shelling money out.
I agree that most T1 players are F2P. However, for those who aren't, we should give them some love, can't we?

THANK YOU. I've said this multiple times myself, OOO needs to work on circulating more players and less milking of people who have already paid.
I think it's a bit unfair to make a suggestion saying that they should implement more things for T1 players with the up-and-coming Missions system, when you haven't tested it. You can't really modify something you don't know yet...
I still agree with this, but since players are discouraged to share what goes on in the Test servers, I think it's a little unfair to suggest something like this. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say anything, so I won't.

Aemicus, I myself am F2P. I have however, brought friends into the game that have donated USD for CE. It doesn't matter whether players are F2P or P2P, they all deserve love because F2Pers could become P2P, and may bring their friends into the game with them.
Mission system. Played it, it's pretty awesome, and it applies to all players, not just P2Ps or T3s.

THANK YOU AGAIN. Try to work over F2P's for money OOO, it seems like all the good stuff is aimed at rich people. This is my favorite thread in the whole wide world.
We reeealy need 1* gear that goes up to 5*. Most players either quit in teir one or basicaly start the game in teir two. So many people in T2 LD have proto gear. I kid you not. I understand you could farm the 1* for UV's, but you could make it less likely to get one as a lower star item.
That's not a bad fix, actually, but they'd have to adjust all * levels..which means 5* crafting might have just a little bit too high of a chance to get a UV (I don't like not getting UVs but...I'd rather not get them than the Crown-Sink (Punch) be less effective).
Still, they'd have to make 1* items have an uber low chance, because you can craft 2 of those in 22 hours without even using CE, combined with an insignificant amount of CR and trash mats.

Tier 1 or new player is suck. They quit and stop playing easily. I don't know why. They just playing in 1 month and then offline forever. I would suggest not to adding a new boss for tier 1 because the tier 1 or new player doesn't know how to enter the boss gate. They just enter the nearest gate. And doesn't know how to use and save crown. And energy too.
You can craft 10 1* items in 22 hours. 2* items are the ones you can only craft 2 per day of without using CE.
And I agree. The current tutorial is rather pathetic...and the game doesn't really give much help in where to go or what to do once you reach the arcade. The goal system helps, albeit a small amount. I have high hopes for this new mission system, it should really encourage new players to get in with the game, and it directs them where to go for what with an added storyline/purpose/rewards system.
The missions system is a ton better than the current "tutorial" system imo...
Oh yes, my bad. Haven't crafted a 1* item in a while.. xD All the more reason to not have anything go from 1*-5*.

I just ran through it, you can literally use nothing but proto gear up to snarbolax fairly easy, and then you are GIVEN a set of cobalt, calibur, and defender before killing snarbolax. Then as you progress through the system, you are then given the RECIPIES for the upgrades of these items. Not to mention doing the mission system gives you a full 1* set with UV's ranging from med to vh. Then later on, you unlock weapons such as fireburst brandish, flourish, and nightblade, as well as status alchemers, shadowtech, and magnus (up to 3* by rank 6). Just with that, you can get to rank 6 until the sticking point with needing full 4* gear. They are doing A LOT for newer players with the mission system. And I don't really care what anyone says, Spiral Knights will always be a "paid game". They need people to pay for the game to continue to keep it updated and maintained. Why would they tailor specifically to F2P.
Within about 2 hours for a newbie (about 80 or so mist without reviving) on the Test Server, You can learn the following.
How to create weapons and armor.
What mist and crystal energy is and how it works.
what are accessories and how do put them on.
What are UV's and how do you get them.
What each vendor does and what they sell.
What the crystals do.
What heat is and why it is good.
What drones are.
Introduced to wolvers, lumbers, gremlins, spookats, zombies, trojans, and wings.
TL;DR Mission system really helps out T1 and saves them about 400 or so CE
All of these are done in t1 d1-5, very easy with little-to-no damage taken.
I would like to give a huge thank you to OOO for this. The mission system is truly amazing to new players.
I Second that. Although it's made my Guide character in RC a little bit obsolete :(
The problem is is that most of the T1 players are F2P and OOO is probably going to help out their P2P T3 players before anyone else.
