The broken mecha knight in the Bazaar. Its been quite some time now, and its still broken... Is this broken mecha knight a key part to some future role in Spiral Knights? Or will it forever just stand there rattling, completely useless, with an equally inept mechanic?

mecha-knights play a role in the future of SK?
Bosco might unlock some hidden power in te mecha knight which leads to its attempt to destroy the universe by harnessing the power of the core and bringing all machines under its control.
It's to show newbies that you can have mecha-buddies assist you in the clockworks so it'll stay broken.
