Typically I log during peak playing hours to try and trade for a few minutes and maybe chat. Since the game starts in the ready room, it would be really convenient to be able to chat in the trade channel without having to load haven. Call me lazy, but if I have no reason to load haven (no trades) then I really don't want to load it if I'm only going to be on for 10-20 minutes.

I thought trade chat went across havens already? I thought the only place that trade chat was blocked was in the playing areas (coliseum, clockworks).
If /2 isn't global to all havens, then I guess I now need to go to the more populated havens to try and trade...

Trade and zone chats only
Trade and zone chats only work in haven. That's why you can't use them in the ATH, Dungeons and their lobbies (Ready room is a dungeon lobby), Rescue Camp, and the Krogmo Colussium. It's just how it's coded. Those areas are all different servers and having global messages would be difficult and annoying. That's what the /broadcast command is for.
I don't think this would work because the ready room isn't part of any haven. If we made a world trade chat for the ready room then I bet it would be flooded to DEATH.
