Kage no Senshi likes an occasional game of guild Lockdown as much as any other group, but it's sometimes difficult to find another guild willing to take the challenge, and in any case there are times that we'd rather have a more "casual" game. One night, it occurred to the membership that there were twelve of us not really doing anything, and a guild team is six players, so ... why the hell not?

However, after finding enough members we were given the unhelpful message that we needed more players. This seemed utterly nonsensical, to the point someone suggested it might be a bug. However, we eventually realized that this was in fact the case. A guild could not fight itself, even if it had the teams ready to go. Even if there was no one else to fight.

I really can't understand why this hasn't be implemented and assume (though I'm quite possibly wrong) that adding it wouldn't be hard. However, it seems to be something that could happen and should be allowed. If a guild has 100 members, that's sixteen LD teams. Why can't they challenge each other? It would certainly be a good way to practice PVP without the less pleasant aspects of two different guilds going at it.

If there are any members of any guild that feel something should be done, I'd like to hear about it.

Heh, we at Knights of Equestrian tried this too to no avail. But now the only thing that comes to mind is Civil War.

I'm assuming the reason

I'm assuming the reason behind this is so guilds dont just keep fighting eachother and raising their ranks.

They could add a training lockdown (add to guild hall) that doesnt affect your lockdown ranks.

Good point, Argune.

It would also be a potential way to quickly grind Krogmo Coins, and that is something I don't think anyone is going to be in favor of. It's certainly a problem in many other games, I'd rather it not crop up in Spiral Knights as well. The idea of a training Lockdown arena is a good one, or the system could simply not hand out rewards if the same guild composes both teams.

Real sports teams fight each other all the time, it's called practice.

I had mentioned something similar in my guild but I did not make a suggestion on the forums.

Maybe with the removal of rewards and costs to play. Guilds and friends could battle each other for fun and training for different situations.

You wouldn't have annoying wait times if it was planned among everyone.

I also notice alot of guilds

I also notice alot of guilds schedule or talk to eachother to get a match going. maybe some kind of system where guilds can set a challenge. to another guild. or open challenges other guilds can accept. there must be someway better than sitting in an empty queue hopeing another guild see's there is a challenger waiting:P

Single GVG LD or even BN

Here are my thoughts as things stand right now... agree or disagree if you like.

If single GVG matches were available as a profitable venture, I still say it isn't OP, since 30% of the cr invested in LD or BN is burnt away. If you have to churn KC's or even just looking for profit, you'd still have to get the entire group of people playing to agree to set terms and other crap (which as many should know is relatively impossible for those with individuals in your guild).

It's that crown sinking that makes it lack OP-ness. Because in 50 matches at a 1 win:1 loss ratio (which would result in the least aggravating cr burn) you'd receive with no krogmo bribes, 75KC's, enough for 1 mod calibrator which is selling at about 3-5k cr depending on market flux you'll have also burnt 3k cr a piece. So really, the only thing you get is points, which again, I don't see as OP because the leaderboards are a joke in the first place regarding how they count you as leader of anything. Even if you bribe Krogmo each time, that's BURNING ENERGY, which, last I checked, sucks because Krogmo has more chance of giving everyone more coins than a mask or anything else.

Besides, I must opin that some single GVG matches of any type would be more fun than dealing with the occasional snot on random teams or even worse GVG itself. Sorry to those that auto-aim and decide to wear wolver line armor (yes I'm talking about some of you, cause you dang well know who you are) but I really don't like to deal with your either QQ'ing that one team is stronger or even your crap bragging because your leetskillz are awesome.
