A while back I saw a suggestion asking for a slow piercing weapon a la a heavy sword.
Recently, while watching a certain cartoon that did not in any way inspire me creating this topic, I figured a Drill could fill this niche.
A user by the name of Pillboy suggested this Idea last year and it was requested that he flesh out the idea more. Unfortunately, the topic then died.
It can be found here: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/12109
My idea i very similar, but with a few differences in the mechanics-
.
-THE WEAPON-
As Pillboy stated, simply a handheld Drill. I suggest it borrow the model of a pulsar/Polaris but with a large drill in place of the "barrel" that deals pure piercing damage. Probably a 3*-5* line of weapon as well.
-THE COMBO-
The first hit would be identical to all other heavy swords- a plain swipe. The second hit(and third) would be a forward thrust that hits twice. The total damage would be to the flourishes what the DA is to a 5*Brandish, slightly more power for a higher risk.
-THE CHARGE-
I propose the charge time be somewhere between that of the DA and Gran Faust. The attack itself would be a 3 hit forward thrust at 3* and a 4 hit dash modeled off of that of the WRH from 4* and on. Damage would be based off of the damage disparity between a Brandish and DA.
.
Overall, a heavy Piercing weapon that is modeled off of a 2 hit sword but with multiple hits per strike. While this would have seemed rather akward and ill fitting to the game before, it fits a bit better now with the release of the WRH.
I don't really know if a slow peircing sword would be good. Already the flourishes are extremely powerful. To have a weapon combo stronger than a flourish combo would be chaos. Maybe make that thought to a drill bomb(lol 😝) or have it very similar to a flourish's damage?
