Damage Trinkets

Not sure if suggested before, but:

Since we already have trinkets which increase damage of swords/bombs/guns, why not create a new class of trinkets which gives damage bonus against ?

4*: Damage bonus against low.
5* Damage bonus against medium.

For example, when I hunt jelly gems, I constantly switch between my biohazard and my nightblade. Instead of having to use 1 sword damage increase trinket, and 1 gun damage increase trinket, if I have such a trinket, that would make my life much easier.

Granted, it has a rather niche use, but I'm sure some people would also like to have damage bonus against undead in FSC, or something.

Also, instead of mod calibrators, I think the specific crafting material should be those little defense trinkets we get from exchanging sparks.

Suggestions are welcome!

well i see what you meen but....

If they have damage against something specificaly that meens that all wepons even if it were bomb, gun or sword would get that bonus and its just takeing out punch..... would you like your job taken away from you.

In all respect of course.. but I don't think punch wants his job taken over by a machine...

Plus then people would farm vana more.. and with their shiv and strike needle both with undead vana would be the one in trouble.

In your specific example, you can wear skolver/BTS for the sword and gun trinkets.......

Or just BTS and gunner armor.

Or Chroma Suit armor.

@Vanillateddy Not really stealing punch's job per se, I'd still find him for rolling UVs on my armors, or looking for CTR/ASI on my weapons. It might make damage bonus UVs somewhat obsolete, but it doesn't have that much of an impact overall. (to me at least).

@Juances Full chroma armor doesn't give me maximum damage against slimes. I'd probably want one of these damage trinkets to make that max and keep another trinket slot open for pentas or something.

Hi again~

Actually, this idea can go both ways.
On one hand, it could complement the really niche armors that not many people use, and boost their sales. That and it could save up on trinket slots.

On the other, remember that most levels don't have only one monster type - you'd probably need to get a Fiend and Undead trinket for FSC; in the end you might as well just stick with the damage trinkets for your weapons; ultimately it's just beefing up whichever weapon does the most dps; that being said most people would go with the weapon damage trinkets since most rely on only one form of attack for DPSmost of the time (like me).

As you said, the problem lies in it being very niched - we're talking about fully mixed weapon and armor sets here, and very very few players would use that on a regular basis; rather opting for general attack/defence. Hence certain overused items.

Nonetheless, there really isn't much that's fundamentally wrong with this idea, it's just that I won't foresee this being used much.

Indeed

It is a very niche use.
But as there isn't anything wrong with it, nothing potentially game breaking, I still think it should be implemented just to give the game a little more variety in trinket options, instead of perhaps, FULL WOLVER + ELITE SLASH MODULE or FULL GUNSLINGER + ELITE TRUESHOT.
