Let's face it, if you disconnect while there's monsters around, you're dead. If you're alone, it either means calling a friend or spending some energy reviving. The disconnection policies need an overhaul.
I propose one, some, or all of these changes:
1. Temporary invulnerability while disconnected in PvE. Shouldn't be too hard to do; the game obviously knows when you're disconnected. If it's too much, possibly an automatic shielding function while disconnected.
2. A 45 second delay of kick in PvP. Even 30 seconds would be enough and shouldn't harm the team. It would possibly even harm the team less than if the player is kicked immediately.
3. A different message in PvP when you disconnect. Seriously, "Username has left the match." doesn't really represent the situation well enough. There are people who frown upon you for leaving a match, when in reality you may have just been disconnected. My suggestion would be "Username was disconnected from the other players" or "Username has been kicked from the match."
4. In PvE, disconnected players should be carried down by the elevator by default, as dead players are, rather than ejected to Haven. If the Party Leader wishes not to have the member in the party anymore, he or she can easily kick the disconnected player.
5. In PvE, if you're alone, dead, and disconnected, the timer should not continue to count down. It's easy to be ejected to Haven because you have no time to CE revive after reconnecting.
I don't see why disconnecting is as it is now, since the game knows when you're disconnected (it puts the symbol above your head and teleports you to party buttons) and you may or may not reconnect within seconds in PvP. Other times it may take you a minute or two to reconnect, and you're helpless during this time. Armor was recently balanced so Gunslingers weren't more feeble than everyone else; why not balance for those with bad connections?
4. What if you actually wanted to leave after that level? The game will steal you the 10 energy. Or if you get dsiconnected but cant solve the problem yourself. It'd be pointless to be carried down. Defaulting to haven is the way to go.
