The Deadshot Mantle is the only one of the four 5* gunner armors that doesn't have the little glowing wheel thingies on its feet. if you look closely, there's a very faint image of one with the spikes, but the whole thing isn't imminent and definitely not visible at a glance. Not sure where this should go. Just wondering if it's a bug (if so fix it please XD) or if it's purposeful.

I noticed this on Miracle

I noticed this on Miracle Cloak a long time ago. Haven't really looked at the other Magic cloaks to see if they have it too though.

@Dirt: It's weird how no one else notices it. O_o
Is it a purposeful detail or is there supposed to be a spur?

@Fallconn: That's O.K.; I talk like this to get peoples' attention.

@Nekosniper: What exactly did you notice on the Miracle Cloak?

It's a spur.

No, it's a little wheely-thing. The cowboys used them to rollerblade when they lost their horses.

The spur outline on the Grey

The spur outline on the Grey Feather Mantle has been bugging me forever. XD

I'm surprised so few have saw the "ghost spurs", it's quite noticeable imo, but I also have a thing for paying too much attention to small details. >_>

This rivals the curdle post in terms of best post ever.

I've noticed this as well.

I've noticed this as well. And when you look at the Flawed Seerus Mask you can see the outline of the missing ear at certain angles. It's probably just leftovers that weren't completely removed. /scientificterms

Most armors/weapons of a

Most armors/weapons of a given line for the same star level use the same model, also occasionally for pieces from the same line at different star levels. If you want to remove something from a model it is easier to just make the given part invisible instead of creating an entire new model... less time needed, less coding, and your efforts can be put elsewhere that much faster.

With the right conditions in game you can still see the invisible parts, namely in the Frostbite Lockdown stage and certain Arenas.

You can see:
Levi Blades "chains" (CIV model)
Deadshot Mantle "spurs" (all other 5* Gunner armor model)
Fractured Seerus Mask "2nd ear" (Perfect Seerus Mask model)
Heavy Plate Helms "horns" (Volcanic Plate Helm model... have not seen this one myself, so that one is hearsay)

Only up to four-star. Perhaps that's why they're missing from this five-star armor.

"If you want to remove something from a model it is easier to just make the given part invisible instead of creating an entire new model..."
Couldn't they just crunch it into a single point?

Non, I do not dev, but I know

Non, I do not dev, but I know people that develop pieces for IMVU/2nd Life. The mesh or model is already made and easy to use, to make something disappear is relatively easy just by making it invisible. If you actually change the model it can leave a hole that you have to fill in, might cause the model to not work right, etc. Re-texturing it on the other hand is easy, just have to change the coloring... it is how most of the devs on IMVU actually make stuff. They just re-texture existing models, a minority of people on there actually create new models (cause its a pain).

I understand the idea of using existing meshes, and I think you're probably right. Instead of texturing it to be invisible though, I'm talking about transforming the geometry of the spur in-game into a single point so it can't be seen. I figured it might be easier and more reliable (wouldn't end up with these ghost spurs), but now that I think about it it's probably easier just to change the alpha of the spurs and make them transparent since you're redoing the texture of the whole model anyway, whereas transforming it in-game would probably require extra calculations of some sort.

I still wonder where the ghost outlines come from though. Maybe they missed a couple faces and left them visible?

not to necro, but...

It'd be real nice if a GM would make it so that it has a real wheely-thingy.
