I cannot start SK from Steam while steam community is checked.
It starts up, the process works java.exe starts in task manager, then it dies
It works without steam community, but I have money in my wallet which I would like to spend.
I am running Windows 7 and have refreshed Steam.
Any advice?

This is a problem that can sometimes be fixed by making sure you have the most up to date graphics drivers possible. Some older versions do not allow the Steam Community overlay to function properly with Spiral Knights.
