Would you prefer the shield bubble to only show up when the server registers it?

So I was playing around and had a thought: Would it help the faraway players if the shield bubble shows up only when the server registers your action to shield? (or measuring the average ping and estimating the time needed for the action to reach the server, then delay the bubble showing for that amount of time)

I mean, it might give a good gauge on how early you have to bring the shield up, and also explain the OMG I SHIELDED FIRST STUPID ONE BAR PING fuss.

Only forseeable problem I think is players might think it's a legit attribute and gets the swiftsrike because it increases attack speed (which sould mean faster shielding).

not feasible

The problem you are talking about is lag. If you connection is good then the shield bubble does show at roughly the same time the server registers it. There is basically no way to do what you have described.

If you wanted it to show up

If you wanted it to show up when the server gets the signal the signal still needs to go back to your computer making it show up even later.

All there needs to be is Australian servers

I'm not Australian but a New Zealander instead.
If they they added in Australian servers it would be great, then at least even I would have something better to connect to.

You guys totally missed his

You guys totally missed his alternative option:
Have the client show an "estimated" shield delay based on your current ping.

This is a great idea. If it were implemented and stuffed in the options (disabled by default, of course), I'd love to have this. It wouldn't be 100% accurate, but it would give you enough of an idea that you could adjust your timing appropriately.

^ agree.

+1 good idea. i dont know if it will affect me because i am connected to an internet that is very strong. maybe it would affect the people in europe or australia because of their ping, like mustelid mentioned.

Original problem of the lag

Original problem of the lag still stands. The difference in the attack animation and health loss will still be as bad as before.
