hurhur, troll title.

So not too long ago, I read something about a possible speed advantage (avoid reload) by using equipping two Magnus-line (or double-wielding the same) guns and alternating between the two.

1) Just talking about the speed/no-reload aspect, if this is true, how noticeable is the speed advantage?
2) Is this weapon-switch trick applicable to any other weapons?

I thought the idea of having two Magnus-lines was kind of reminiscent of GunZ and its many ... tricks to speed up gameplay, so I was wondering if there was any other application out there lol.

Someone did a test of the

Someone did a test of the shoot shield switch switch shoot for alchemers, and came out with more shots than the usual shoot wait shoot.

So I would assume that equipping a 2nd weapon of the same type will increase the amount of bullet output even more by skipping a switch step. So one would get shoot shield switch shoot.

The people who use such tactics seem to use a key bind for each weapon, to be able to switch to to the correct weapon quickly.

hm,

Well, as far as input goes, you can input the weapon-switch at any time during your attack animation (regardless of weapon) and you'll switch as soon as possible:

So you can do something like this:

Shoot+switch > tap shield... repeat

instead of the more timing-intensive

Shoot > tap shield > switch.. repeat

of course, it's simpler with adjacent weapons.

Nyan nyan nyan nyan....

I've heard of someone who did that with two Winmillions, but that was a while ago. I'm guessing that in this case it skips using the second bullet for two-shot guns. Assuming that this is the case, I don't think the benefit will be hugely noticeble, especially with ASI, from what I gathered with some Driver tests I did. I think that it helps more if you're used to it, but I'm not sure otherwise. I'll try and run some tests later and see with the 2* alchemers.

Let's talk about cost-efficiency.
With the money you require to pull this off with T3 weapons, you could afford some decent UVs instead.

I think I found this trick,

I think I found this trick, and with the fast input and timing required it does feel like I'm playing GunZ. Contrary to what others keep saying, you don't use two of the same weapon, you just use one magnus or alchemer and switch away and back to it after shield cancelling your attack's ending animation. It boosts your damage rate by ~50-60% if you do it correctly. You must bind your weapons to individual keys to switch weapons instantly.

tap shoot > tap alt weapon key > hold shield key and wait for it to activate ... (your weapon swaps as shield activates) switch back to gun > shoot
or simply
shoot > shield cancel > switch weapons > switch back > shoot

You can do something similar with Winmillion (not so much anymore since they broke the first swing it a with recent patch) and Rocket Hammer to boost constantly. With the Rocket Hammer and max attack speed you can move at about the same speed as a player running normally.
