I I've been thinking about getting the Mercurial Demo Set for a while, but looking at the stats, I'm not very convinced. The medium walking speed increase from the set is fine, but it needs more than just low damage increase for bombs. This is an armor we are talking about that you have to craft from beating the shadow lairs. It needs a medium CTR and make it weak vs stun or something... Just that having only med damage and speed increase isn't good enough to have to beat the shadow Roarmulous twice to get.... Think about the med CTR and stun weakness idea... Does that seem balanced?

As far as I know, slooms only come from monster cages, and jelly armor is a better way of blocking sleep.

I just don't like that there is no CTR increase for it. It just won't feel like I'm wearing bomber gear, like Bombastic... I also don't want to have to get max CTR using UV's or trinkets...

Mercurial Demo is meant to be hit-and-run, not primary demolition. Mad Bomber has the least defense of the four branches, giving +4 bomb charge and damage in exchange for weakness to poison, fire, shock, and freeze. Volcanic is meant to plant bombs in quick succession without worrying about fire interrupting your charge. Bombastic is meant for the occasional bomb for more supportive use. Mercurial is, again, hit-and-run; run in while charging, plant, run away. The movement increase is supposed to compensate for the lack of charge buffs. Shock hinders movement, therefore Mercurial Demo has shock resistance.

Luiguiru is right at stating what the armor is made for, but i have it and personally, its speed bonus makes ..... no difference whatsoever ..it should have either med speed increase (as well as normal merc set) or increase how much speed increase affects your speed.
then it will be a stat worth sacrificing CTR for in certain circumstances

Well do gunners need anything? I mean, they already have shadow, pierce, and elemental defense sets. Swordies have piercing and shadow. Bombers still get the elemental that needs to change.... So yah I agree with Imp...
Yah you need CTR or maybe what Shreddie was suggesting about bigger WSI(walking speed increase?)

1) Slooms no longer spawn in monster boxes. Nick confirmed this in a tweet so long ago that I wont bother to spend the 15 minutes to dig it up.
2) I'm a gunner with all the guns and armors and such and I think we're doing just fine for armor atm. We could use another weapon (*cough*snarbygun*cough*) though.

Dang it is this going to be one of those posts where somebody changes the subject in the middle of it? We're talking a bomb set, not gunners. Sorry but can't you make a Snarby gun with Max! piercing damage uv on an antigua and be good? The only difference would be graphics, maybe charge, and a bunch of T3ers laughing at you for bringing an antigua to Lockdown... Other than that...
Change the damage bonus low for bombs to CTR high with the Mercurial block piercing and get stunned easily? I realized that people nerfed the Merc Demo set cause how else would you get max CTR without trinkets and a lvl 10 bomb with no CTR UV's...

I want only Very High damage
I want only Very High damage for this set and shadow resistants for "mad bomber" and piercing for "bombastic" set
with sleep resistance, ok.
