Can the Roarmulus Twins be done in under a minute?

They can, but it requires alot of luck at the end. I not only currently have the fastest run ever done, I have all 10 of the top 10 fastest runs ever done. Hopefully, this is going to change. I'll be showing 2 of them along with 2 runs that SHOULD have been 0:56.

Currently, I'm offering 3,000 crystal energy (CE) to the first person to upload a sub 60 second twin video. If a group does it instead of a solo player, the amount will be split between the group. 750x4 or 1000x3 or 1500x2 or 3000x1.

Just send me a tell in-game or drop a comment below if you cannot get to me in-game. I've given up on attempting it. This challenge will be active until May 15th. (Edit: Raised the Bounty to 3,000 CE, still 3 weeks left)

Milkywai and Maikschnut deliver a 47 second duo of Roarmulus Twins. Now my runs are just the fastest 'solo' runs ever done with this attempt being the fastest run ever done (so far). Group got the 3k CE (Mailed it to Milkywai to split up).

Well...

@Chickennuggetz - I can do the "new" RJ in 30 seconds with Acheron. Strange enough FoV is only a very little bit faster at like 26 seconds. Old RJ only had 2 phases so it was possible to 4 shot him instead of 6 shotting him now. I was able to do the Old JK in 22 seconds with FoV. Golfdinger took 4 more seconds off it by using 2 electron vortexes before the button was pressed.

@Golfdinger - Was hoping you'd say that. Just um, hope you beat the RNG and it doesn't drive you insane like it did me.

I don't really see the point in this challenge. As I understand it, you basically want people to attempt to do exactly what you've already done numerous times, only with some extra luck. As long as they're able to copy what you do, it seems like more of a lottery. Or am I missing something?

@Tom-Awsm - Well, it requires some skill, decent luck, and perfect timing. I'm going to be playing Diablo 3 when it comes out on May 15th so I'm thinking of interesting ways of giving some CE away <3

@Mysticbeam - 3 seconds to reach RJ with a charged FoV and hit him, 3 more to push phase 2...6 more seconds to land 2 charged hits to push phase 3. Eight more seconds to wait while RJ spins and 6 more seconds to finish him off (2 more charges). Two players can speed kill the new RJ in 18-20 seconds though.

As I was coming back from work the suspense was killing me if someone were able to actually do this in one day. I did come to my senses though when I remembered my legitimately perfect attempts that got ruined xD.

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

TBH my best time ever is slightly over a minute due to a dare with 4 people spamming DVS on the Twins. I've never tried it solo, nor have I had the same results with any of my group runs. I would first like to add that your videos are GODLY, and I look forward to replicating them.

Also, good luck to anyone else who tries. BTW, what program did you use to record your runs, and is it free or paid?

Thanks, and good luck attempting this! You can do this solo or with a group of people.

I use fraps to record. The video doesn't compress while it records, this way your FPS isn't kicked in the nuts while its going lol.

Back in the day when I used to fight them every day 3-4 times and record my time, I beat them in under a minute once- with the help of 3 pugs that didn't have any decent items. Shame I didn't record that.

You aren't limited to the players in your group or attempts you can make. As long as you are the first to record one, upload it and link it to this forum (Or any other way to contact me)...you win.

With that said, look at the video...its day 3 and I haven't gotten a submission yet. This means you and anyone else can still do it.

@Gingermace and Fehzor - Good luck with your attempts. You guys have some real tough competition from people who contacted me in-game too.

That was a good run. 0:20 ~ 1:49 --> 1:29. If the twins cooperated a bit on your run it woulda been 1:19. And then 1:17 if you weren't shocked.

I'm not sure who I'll be rooting for. Definitely dropped a like on your vid though because it was a good run.

@Rangerwillx Trust me...there are alot of other people trying hard. Unless they post directly on this forum, I won't reveal who they are though.

Good to hear. To give you an idea of how many runs I had to do to get 1:05 my NINE OTHER 1:04 runs (all recorded)...I did 45 to 50 attempts. I got my first 1:04 on attempt 8. So as long as RNG doesn't kick you in the nutz, you should have it in another 20ish runs (I would have had it on run 15 if the twin moved down on phase 5 xD).

@Others participating - This isn't easy. I know this challenge by every second in the run. This means that anyone speeding up their video will instantly give themselves away. Alot of people are realizing that its not just luck based. This requires serious timing, and there is zero forgiveness. If you mess up...you must do another 10-12 minute run through the twins stratum to attempt it again. I still believe if someone plays well enough and has the luck, they will win.

I don't have the time during the week, but I guess I can try some at the weekend, I never got that deep into twins (no pun intended ;D) and the only elemental sword i have right now is an DA but i guess i'll work something out, maybe my levi works when wearing full skolver + bts. Would make it way harder though as I guess I'll have to face exactly the right direction in order to hit 3 times with my charge ^^ I'll see :)

Does the video have to be on youtube or might I use a streaming service like twitch to report if I wish to? :)

A couple things.
You'll still have some time. There's about 3 weeks until the challenge is done (Unless someone completes it before then).
As long as you can link to somewhere I can see it (not live though lol), the link works and contains a legitimate attempt with no speedups, its good to go. You can add music, and make edits before and after the actual attempt...just make sure there aren't any "time length adjustments."

Also, if anyone has specific questions you can send in-game mail to "Zinqf". I do work late, but I do check SK each day. Not everything has to be a forum post =)

Interesting contest. I'll practice IMF for a bit... other than the 5 runs I just did, I've played it like 3 times in the last 6 months. I wonder how far I can get with Polaris.

By the way, what's your record for full-clearing IMF? I've gotten 14:20. As in, opening all boxes/crystals, and collecting all heat/coins/materials.

I used to be roarmy pro. Well, not really, but whatever. Here's a tip for you guys: If one of the twins gets hit with a rocket, and they are about to fire a rocket themselves, just release your charge. It will cancel their attack and stagger them, saving you about 1-1.5 seconds each time that happens. I saw it happen numerous times in the OP's video, where he stood to the side of the twin waiting for it to fire b4 releasing his attack.

Trust me, it works.

PS: Best roarmy time: 1:41. Sad, huh? Good luck to everyone!

Edit: If you check what happens at 3:15 in the OP's video, that's what I was talking about in this comment. He waited for the rockets to pass before attacking. I'm not sure if those rockets are needed, though, or if canceling them wouldn't matter. Whatever, I guess. If someone really wants that CE though, then i would definitely recommend this.

Try an antigua to help you clear the blocks; I'm annoyed at you trying to clear that amount of blocks with a 3shot Valiance when Antigua is much faster, with SIX shots to help clear more blocks at once.

No recording program, horrible latency etc and this challenge is out of my reach. Go me.

I had been using Argent Peacemaker for a long time. There are many reasons I had made the decision to use Valiance instead. One of those reasons being the fact the shots are larger and when it comes to hitting the switches quickly...you don't want to miss. The other reason is that it actually destroys more than one block at a time unlike the Antigua line. Valiance doesn't fire as fast as AP but its actually not as far away as you make it sound either.

a little background :)

After tryharding twins solo for about 2 weeks now, I did 3 runs with maik and the result is what you see in the video.

I experimented with different weapons and tried out some stuff

Glacius vs DA
while Glacius does not have the movementspeed malus on charge DA's charge is jsut so powerful that its hit paired with the 3 bolts is enough to bring a twin to the next phase, even with 2 players if you have sword damage bonus maximum

Antigua vs Blaster
yeah, i'm not that much of a gunner so far, I own a blitzneedle and a polaris but both don't fit the needs of managing switches in small time windows while staying mobile. So my options were an antigua (which i leveled to level 10 doing twins xD) and the blaster i got from missions
while antiguas upside definately is the huger ammo clip which helps ALOT at cleaning blocks, the downside is: this gun is damn inaccurate when shooting while moving, I've messed up an attempt more than once when failing to hit the switch to get the left twin to the 2nd phase right off the start, so i switched to blaster, which was also recommended in here (valiance actually but yeah it's basically the same)

for the submitted attempt we both wore snarby set + bts and while i used DA and blaster, Maik used his voltedge to beat the hell out of the blocks as well as the right twin the moment they both go down :) I also used a sword focus module which i made today and was about to upgrade to the elite version, which i made to charge the DA faster, but the upgrade is not necessary at least for the twins by now i guess :)

the very best weapon would probably be a glacius/voltedge/combuster with a very high construct dmg UV which might be just enough to bring a twin to the next phase simply by the charge attack combined with a maximum sword damage bonus from gear.

So thanks again for this competition I really enjoyed it as well as probably alot of other people who tried but i guess I will take a break from twins for a couple days xD

I will probably try to get below one minute solo but solo it depends even more on luck as you cannot clear all blocks so you have to rely on lucky twin movement even more :/
