Let there be bonus stats when you carrying a mineral that has similar color to your personal color. For example, increased movement speed or health when you carrying a purple mineral when you have a purple personal color. It will give more reasons for players to look forward to mineral in clockwork.

This is...a different idea,

This is...a different idea, I'll give it that.

But why, for one? Two, that'd require the game to have seperate codes for each and every mineral.

Three, where would orange be? Or magenta? Indigo?

-1.

I don't get it.

We can get MONEY from dumping minerals in gate construction.

Also, why would PERSONAL preference make a advantage ingame.

How long have you been playing anyway?!

Why? Because, i no longer

Why? Because, i no longer happy/bother to collect minerals in clockworks. I guess it will be the same for some? Orange colored players will have bonus when carrying yellow crystals i supposed. It just need to go the nearest similar color, not exact.

Huh

Funny seeing this here, I had a similar idea a few days ago that I was thinking of posting as a suggestion and then forgot about.

Something like a small perk associated with each colour of mineral (and maybe size) would be pretty cool.
Perhaps a party-wide boost for some of them, or bigger minerals offering a boost to the whole party instead of the person carrying it (to keep people from fighting over certain minerals.)

Could have red give a damage bonus, blue speed, etc. Maybe a health bonus from orange...

I like this idea, if it wouldn't be too hard to implement it would be a cool little incentive for players to take minerals and attach some thought to it. It would also make finding the occiasional extra mineral room in levels into a bonus instead of everyone going "awww, not a treasure box tile."

Not sure I agree with having a bonus from it matching your colour. The assortment of colours that players have don't seem to be even (lots of red players compared to some other colours) and very often you only get one or two colour of minerals when you find 4 of them in a room.

Hm...

Not sure...if this was implemented, I'd see a lot of players wanting to pick up that one mineral closest to their color, and that could lead to disputes etc...

I'm neutral to this.

I just find it a pity that

I just find it a pity that when i can choose between two crystals, there is nothing extra when i picked the one matching my color that all.

Patterns appearing

It seems as though until someone properly criticizes the thread everyone mills about going:
"Hurr. Not sure if want. Wait until someone do something. Harumpadump."

If I am reading the original post correctly you are suggesting a temporary buff for carrying a crystal with the same color as your personal. Rather than address why a movement buff would obliterate this thread I shall imply the reason: Mercurial and Mercurial demo are the only sets which currently exist that give move speed increase, one being the 5* upgrade of the Roarmulus token reward set and the other craftable after defeating the Shadow Lair version of the same boss. Both of these sets also only give +1 move speed for each part. Also keep in mind the equipment item* which gives more maximum health is only obtainable through the Krogmo crafting machine and requires a certain material (in addition to several other various materials) only obtainable through the Krogmo minigames or purchasing from players who did it themselves; each upgrade of this trinket only gives +1 health more than the previous star rank and every upgrade costs the normal crowns and energy as its star rank does for all other equipment.

* Vitapods are obtained in the Clockworks; they do not count here.

It would be, as previously stated, "different" to get buffs for carrying the same color crystal as your personal knight color, but the buffs would have to be low enough to be balanced. The crystal size would also play an important role in the buffs.

Personally I see no use for this feature as it would make the game easier. The only way this would be balanced is if it was the same buff and it changed only by a larger crystal size; no move speed or health buffs. Maybe one bar worth of defense, but that would be generous.

Someone else thoroughly analyze this thread so my grades do not influence responses everywhere. It seems after I post a grade for a thread it either gets burned to the ground or worshiped.

I never pick up anything but

I never pick up anything but shock and fiend antis (if you didn't already know, that's green and yellow minerals)
And I encourage everyone else to do the same. Would I be correct in assuming that there are a higher frequency of players that are blue or red than any other colour?
If so that means more blue and red minerals being dragged up, and continuing the fiend rage across the gates.

But HexZyle!

Red and Blue make Gremlin levels, that's why I fetch blue and red before all colors. With this suggestion Dark Matter, that horrible purple mineral, would be the mineral I get a bonus from [if you condense everyone's color to the four available]. That is enough for me to personally say no.

ToxicYoccm, gate watcher.

Come on, please give better

Come on, please give better reason than being afraid of fiend levels, it is so manageable once you got a shadow defense set. Conquer it, not fear it.

-_-

I find there is no need for this suggestion, as we can get cr from this stuff.

How long have you been playing, seriously?

Also, some playstyles(ie Bombers) don't have shadow defence or there is latency.

The only point of minerals was to let playres build their own levels.
Yes, the system is not perfect, but that doesnt mean your idea is the solution.

And personal color? Thats something cosmetic, it shouldnt affect gameplay in anyway.

I wouldn't mind.

I for one think the topic title at least has some merit. As someone that is not a gate watcher, I am not particularly interested in trying to influence the strata, nor do I particularly care for the payouts for doing so (I figure if I put in every mineral I have now, assuming a payout of 3-4 each, I'd get no more than 4,000 crowns for all of it. I can make that in a half hour if I commit to it; Emergency funds? That's what I use CE for).

I think buffing can work, provided it's party-wide. I mean, I'm a soloist, but this is a team-based game, right? More players all taking a mineral equals a small buff of whatever colors are available being provided to the party. In theory, that sounds good. Unfortunately, this doesn't do much for the occasional map that generates the mineral room at the *end*, rather than dispersing them evenly like in Wolver Dens and Arenas. Perhaps a vendor or device that allows a set number of minerals to be converted into said buff? Could work and is possible, but at this point in the game I ultimately think OOO may not be interested in treating minerals as an alternate form of currency when we already have crowns, energy, and tokens to use. Otherwise, again, it could work.

To address and agree with the other concerns, yes, I believe this would encourage hoarding from players that want the most desired buff (if not partywide), and no, I don't believe making it specific to personal color would change that. It would do the opposite, with players wanting the maximum possible damage bonus (most likely) changing their color to, say, red and clamoring just as much as before for that red mineral. Furthermore, we need to bring gate watchers and manipulators back into the equation, respecting them for perhaps wanting a specific mineral for a specific purpose... Or people like me that don't care, so long as they get the largest available. :P

But I digress. I fully agree with the basic idea of getting excited about seeing that mineral room and having at least something "else" to do with them. However, beyond using them for a buff (call it Research or something to that effect), I've got nothing that wouldn't be ultimately detrimental to the spirit of the game or their primary role in the Clockworks.

Meh.

My thoughts on how to improve mineral/Clockworks functionality, in the form of a thread that got more or less shot down.

I'm against the idea of providing buffs for certain mineral colors, since that simply seems to detract from the purpose of minerals (to change gate themes). I do (obviously) agree that there should be more incentive to pick certain minerals, though.

incentive.

i haven't thoroughly thought through this and i don't have a color effect either, but for now how about adding a size effect. Depending on the size of the mineral you pick up, the monsters become more aggressive towards you. The bigger the mineral you pick up, the more the monsters will try to kill you. that way you can distract the monsters from your party members. well, i don't have anything for color, just size. if everyone have the same size, then there isn't any effect.
