At the moment, it has a very minute damage advantage over the other alchemers, but not enough to be worthy. The general consensus is if you want an alchemer go for anything BUT the prismatech. People like the cryotech for kiting, the firotech for its Damage over Time or the voltech because it allows you to interrupt mobs actions

Also I don't believe that there are any poison guns as of yet.
