Make an optional warning sound when you health is low.

It could be something as simple as a small screen shake with a distinct sound to let you know hey you're under 20% health or something. It could be something optionally that was annoying like the continuous beeping of Zelda type games when you're under a certain health.

Sometimes when you're in the heat of the fight you're not staring at your health bar or even feel you have the time to glance at it lest you get hit and die at times. A simple sensory indicator other than the health bar would be nice.

I can GUARANTEE that a

I can GUARANTEE that a beeping, shaking, or a little fairy saying "HEY!" will be used to signify low health.

Perhaps make the health bar "pulse," with the pulse fading after it expands outwards? Better than hearin' MASTER, REPLENISH YOUR HEALTH AT THE EARLIEST OPPROTUNITY.

BEEP BEEP BEEP, BEEP BEEP BEEP

When you get to T3 you have many health bars. Proportionately enemies should do more regular damage to you in general compared to how much health and defense you should have (5*, et cetera). When your knight is damaged a visible indication of health bars falling off of your character shows the type of damage taken (close range/melee attacks always have some normal in them, undead/fiend do shadow, et cetera) because you are expected to either wear armor to better defend against that damage or simply avoid being hit (shielding, strafe-dodge).

Bottom line, which I shall write this time because this post is short; it would be incredibly annoying when it triggers if they steal the Zelda warning system.

I was just about to say that :P But I guess have an option (in the game tab of the options, that place is pretty barren) with either no warning, a single beep like starfox 64 or constant beeping like pokemon/zelda.

The warning should DEFINITELY be signalled when the player loses their One Hit Kill Immunity. (less than 1.25 bars of health)

Like this idea

The warning does not have to be a never ending beep. Of course, the devs could troll us and add an annoying endless beeping that glitches when you do refill your health and continues beeping.

I love this...

This.... would be epic. On low health, hearing beeps going off every second pressuring you, and then Vanaduke suddenly falls down to the ground, and all is well. +1
I love it when a game beeps telling my health is low.... just gives me an epic feeling when i pull through.

zomg not sure if blind or people are getting dumber,
so hard to do quickly look at hp bar?

what will be next ? A big red sign appearing when a monster appears as far as the other end of map?
"because when im fighting i cant notice monsters appearing"

a loud beeep every time monster is going to attack you?
"oh wen i fight i cant see monsters attacking me"

Oh, you said make it optional? Then lets put all pointless suggestions into game and make them all optional.

@Jaerin:

As much as I loathe Asu's tone, I'm inclined to agree with Demo and Asu's view.
Fact is, the health bar is already conveniently placed in your HUD so you can glance at it - in two different locations, in fact. Surely you can tell if you're dying.

Again remember I said make it optional.
Irrelevant.

For a person who frequently

For a person who frequently uses "sonic mode" I'd love this addition. A notification to grab another heart nearby would be excellent for vanaduke proto runs. I don't have time to differentiate between one and one and a half pips while being swarmed by slags dying to rip through my Brigandine and Sallet.

@Asukalan
This is not about people who are dumb, it's about people with different concentration capacities, some people are tunnel visioned and can focus very well but can't be distracted like myself (and men in general) while woman are able to focus on many different things and multitask. By your same logic, why are Why are there hotkeys for vials if we can just slide our mouse up and click on them? You should call everyone who uses hotkeys lazy.
I shouldn't be discriminated against because I can't concentrate effectively on different things or because I do things in a different way to others. There is support for different languages so why shouldn't there be support for people with mental diversity? Some people like a visual indication, others like an audio indication.

what will be next ? A big red sign appearing when a monster appears as far as the other end of map?
"because when im fighting i cant notice monsters appearing"

Nick has already announced that monsters on the minimap is a likely addition.

a loud beeep every time monster is going to attack you?
"oh wen i fight i cant see monsters attacking me"

(most) Monsters already have a large telegraph that displays when they are going to attack you. And it's in the centre of the screen.

All these things you have related to are already in game in a very similar form, or are coming. So that means that this is quite likely to be implemented as well.

"Oh, you said make it optional? Then lets put all pointless suggestions into game and make them all optional"

Already do. They're called costumes and accessories.
Anyway, there are already a few supporters, so the option would get used.

If it's just ONE flash/beep when your health gets below a certain value then it's fine. Not a constant warning every 5 seconds.

@Hex well said. I also agree

@Hex well said.

I also agree that an incessant beeping would be annoying to a vast majority of people and that's the very reason I suggested different options. it's not about making the game easier, this has nothing to do with skill, this has everything to do with accessibility of the game.

I don't understand why people seem to think that very rigid strict rules make a game more challenging or skillful. I mean it would be kind of like saying that I'm better than you because I can kill thing by only walking left. I certainly can do it and maybe I am more skilled at left only play, but that doesn't make me a better player at the game overall necessarily. So I'm not sure why some people having audio cues would be unfair to you or how it diminishes the challenge in the game. Nor do I understand why everything has to be a slippery slope argument thinking that everything is just a step towards some inevitable conclusion.

im with reiyu here

But there is one smaII thing that can be done. When your heaIth is Iow, make the edges of the screen red, in a bIurred sort of way.

That couId be optionaI as weII..

But i'd stiII give this a -1 becuz i sure dont want someone to say "repIenish your heaIth" in darkfire vanaduke's throne room, when i run out of piIIs and im gonna die. Im gonna be Iike "Where can i heaI, you freaking dumb***"
