What about weapon accesories such as a sniper scope for guns or a timer for bombs.

They do, actually. Most weapons use the same model with slight tweaks for each weapon in a line. The thing is that you won't even see the accessories if you don't have full inspect on and it'd be a tad ridiculous considering that almost no weapons actually fit a costume in the first place. I'd be a waste of resources to code something that no one would ever see nor care about, really. I mean, just what else could you logically fit on a weapon, would there be a different set of accessory slots depending on what weapon you use? What positions could you place them on? Are they going to be found on the already massive list of items in Iron Lockboxes?

As Duke pointed out, the major problem here is readability. Weapons are simply too small for accessories to be plainly visible, particularly guns.
That said, some weapon customisation would be nice, although I'm not sure what form it could take that'd be practical.
Although all armors look different, they have a similar 'skeleton' with predefined points to attach accesories.
I dont think all weapons come with that base.
