Disconnected session timeout

First, some background.
In my area the mains power is very unstable. It sometimes drops to even around 160V (it's supposed to be 230V). My PC, the Wimax router and everything else around goes nuts, breaking whatever i'm doing (mostly SK and other games).
To counter that i recently bought an UPS - the brownouts rarely affect my gaming experience anymore.
But, you know... "Fix one thing, just for another one to break" - the story of my life...

With the raising temperatures i'm having more and more overheating issues - my PC often hangs-up while doing CPU-intensive tasks (like SK). The case is open all the time, the fans get cleaned every once in a while, yet that seems not enough to prevent the overheating.

If this happens while i'm in Haven, that's fine - nothing lost... but it usually happens while i'm in the Clockworks.
In the past i was often able to reset the PC, reload Windows, start SK and re-connect to my previous session. Even if i found my knight dead, i at least had the option to revive and continue.

Nowadays though, even when i reboot immediately, cancel all delays, skip all the disk scans, kill the unneeded starting programs, etc. - i can't continue even a single SK session.
The moment i see the town square loading screen, i kill the game and don't get back for hours. I am just too frustrated and feel like throwing my PC through the window.

I bet there are many others experiencing the same.

To help us out, would you increase the timeout for disconnected players, please?
And don't start the dead timer if the player is disconnected? Or, even better, apply invulnerability to disconnected knights, so we don't die in the first place?

If desktop and old

Make sure you get rid of the dust that the PC collected in the past few months. If you can't do it ask someone for help. Or buy a better fan.

Do you live in a Third World country or something?

wish it was trolling...

@Asukalan
Nope, unfortunately...

@Varminttwotwothree
It's a midi-tower - a really old one, but as i said already, the dust is cleaned often - every time i tinker inside, which is almost each day as the case is already open.
I upgraded the motherboard and the CPU in december, during the cold days it was fine (except the power grid issues). This is going to be my first summer with the current setup... The heatsink is from the old mobo, which started with a Duron @ 600MHz and slowly reached a Thornton @ 1350 MHz (1800MHz stock, it ran at 100 FSB instead of 133, because of lacking mobo support), the current CPU is a Barton @ 2083MHz stock which i recently unlocked and now runs at anywhere between 700-2150MHz. Obviously i'll have to find a better cooling solution soon (and hopefully a whole new PC)...

@Trying
Well, just eastern Europe, but some kilometers outside the city limits.

But, regardless, is any of you able to reset your system during solo Clockworks (in battle?) and manage to load the OS, start SK and resume your session without being sent back to Haven?
I don't think the current timeouts allow this.

What's your graphics card? Memory please.

It can also slow down your PC.

@Egpnd Did you tried what's

@Egpnd
Did you tried what's at the end of my previous post?

Anyways, here it is:
Mobo: Asus A7V8X-X
CPU: Athlon XP 2800+ (Barton core), home-made mobile :P
RAM: 2x 1GB Kingston DDR PC3200
Video: Inno3D GeForce 7600GS, AGP 8x, 256MB GDDR3
Sound: Creative Audigy 2 (SB0240)

The speed is not an issue, it's the insufficient time available to reconnect after your knight becomes uncontrolled/disconnected for whatever reason.

This is a situation beyond

This is a situation beyond three rings control, if your local machines have issues that's your problem to handle.

@SinkillerjBut they can be

@Sinkillerj
But they can be nice and help a bit, right? I already saw a couple topics requesting the same.
As i asked already, is any of You able to reset Your system while soloing the Clockworks (during a battle?), reload the OS, start SK and resume your session without being sent back to Haven?

FYI, I just put a household fan beside the table my PC is on - the CPU temperature fell 11 degrees Celsius within a couple minutes. Hopefully i'll play SK normally tonight...
