Hello fellow Knights. In this topic, I am here to discuss about an issue I just occurred just by basically opening up "stream://rungameid/99900 (Stream > Spiral Knights)." The only items I see right after I open this application is just a black screen, an isolated blue cursor, and an active introduction audio playing in the background.

Even though I have completely followed the instructions on the wiki...:

...this issue still exists and standing. All I did is added a new string "compatibility_mode" since this string does not exist in the "projectx" file.

My PC data and info below with dashes:

-Windows edition: Windows 8 Consumer Preview
-Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz
-6.00 GB
-64 bit Operating System

I dont think SK is compatible with Window 8 yet

Greetings,

Please remember to download and install a graphics driver after installing Windows 8. The Windows default compatibility driver provided for Intel integrated graphics chips in the Windows 8 Consumer Preview does not provide the necessary functionality for 3D graphics in OpenGL.

I have already did but the problem still exists. I've even installed the latest drivers for Windows 8 Consumer Preview followed by the URL:

Greetings,

Can you please post your projectx.log file? That will likely show if there is a graphics error or not. Since both the operating system and the drivers you are using are in a Beta state I cannot guarantee that Spiral Knights will work properly, if at all.

Do you add that in projectx? or its there? cuz if its there I dont have any of those I only have 2 Language and Default

Nope. All I did was look, copy, and paste it on my post. The text "Information from projectx" is just something I've added TO THE POST, not the projectx file.

I'm sorry, but I can't seem to determine cause of the error. It looks like the log ends right around the time the main window appears with no error. Is there any file in your Spiral Knights installation directory that looks like "hs_err"? If so it could reveal some more information.
