Hey guys, Ive been wondering if i should get the salamander set as my elemental armor, or magic. I just got T3 clearance, but i'm not very good at this game. The armors I have now are a Mighty Cobalt set, Dusker set, and Scary Skelly set (no shield). I know I have procrastinated on getting elemental armor pretty bad, so i'm doin it now. Thanks in advance if i don't get back to anyone within a reasonable time.
P.S. this is my first post.
Welcome to the forums. Or if you're not new but just haven't posted, welcome anyways.
The Magic Set and its branch to Grey Feather are like the basic Elemental defense performing well regardless of the wearer's Weapons. If you specialize in one of the Weapon types, the majority of the player base would recommend acquiring the Elemental defense armor set that gives you offensive boosts to your Weapon type (Vog Cub for Sword specialists, Nameless/Perfect Seerus Mask for Handgun specialists, any branch off Spiral Demo for Bomb specialists). If you prefer increased defense and Status resistance to offensive boosts, than the Magic set is the way to go with Grey Feather being its 5* upgrade. The Magic set branches off into the Divine set and the Chaos set but I would discourage use of those until you have a better feel of the game.
The Salamander set is not recommended by most as it has lower defense in every way when compared to the Magic line's Star level equivalent which the Salamander set trades for an offensive boost against Slimes. This happens to be a particularly useless boost on this armor as Slimes use Piercing Damage and Salamander has no Piercing defense.
