Okay, so, here is my idea: I have been on a character in the Rescue Camp for almost a year now, helping the new players whenever possible and trying my best to help them learn about the game because I have seen many just outright quit in the Rescue camp because they do not know what to do, and the directions are not very clear, I have seen an even larger amount of new players quitting due to not knowing what's going on since the new Mission system was implemented, my idea is for players to be selected that are helpful and kind to be "Clockwork Guides", basically a Player GM type system, except they would only be able to mute players temporarily and just stayed in the rescue camp to help new players and answer any questions that they have. This would most likely help keep quite a few new Knights that are confused in the game and could promote a feeling that OOO really cares about the players and takes enough time to make sure they are all on track instead of just showing up when there are problems.
Clockwork Guide
I've noticed a lot of rescue camp goers don't even know how start the missions
I mean, it's not like there's a flashing yellow selector pointing to it or anything.
That's the one thing that bugs me about new players and rescue camp.
Hopefully now that the tutorial makes the "missions" button flash, then the "mission icon" button flash, then the "start" button flash.
They should now know what to press.
I like this idea. I made a new character just for fun and I didn't even know what to do.
My brother also started playing and after that one time, he never went back. I just feel sad because I love SK and don't know why anyone would give up so easily!
So, the new rescue camp is out and even with the yellow arrows and flashing, people seem more confused than ever. I really think this is a needed feature, I've seen even more people quit now because they are confused than with the old rescue camp
Lol, if someone cant go out from rescue camp i think its better for him to stop playing.
Also, how you can even help people in rescue camp? They cant speak even if you yell them in face how to type.
well forumchat is my alternative knight which stays at RC only...
btw if they can't even check the wiki on their own, they deserve a quit rather than a help.
Isn't this... the entire point of the mission system? If it isn't working, it would be best to fix it rather than get players to help them... thats ripe for abuse, especially the part about muting them. Muting players is demeaning- and I can easily see people going to "help" new knights by muting them into quitting.
I am, however, all for allowing players to get 'help' from other players. I'd like to see this integrated with guilds though, rather than as a stand alone feature. Namely a recruitment center for guilds aimed at finding newer players to integrate into the guild and thus help. That would REALLY make my day... it gets so tiring, trying to go out and get people to accept guild invites day after day, just so that your guild has people in it and so that your officers don't join wolfpack party to further their love affairs.
Check it.
