As it stands now, Cobalt line armor is outclassed. It's advertised as THE general purpose armor set. Even its descriptions reference this.

The reality? It's far from. Currently, it's a cheap and readily available starting set of armor.. Cobalt line offers a high amount of normal defense, piercing defense, and nothing else. Anyone with a set of this (and you will from the missions) will likely not use it outside of Tier 1, or to craft Almirian Crusader armor. In contrast, virtually every other set of armor is either more specialized, more protective, or fulfills a niche role.

So how will Cobalt become a general purpose armor?

This is what I present to you, Suggestions forum. Leave your suggestions here, and maybe we can bring this to the attention of the developers.

Here's a starting idea: Cut piercing defense to a third of its current defense, and replace it with equivalent amounts of elemental and shadow. This way, it'll work as a true general purpose set. But this is just my idea. I want to hear from you.

Don't stop there.

Give it a low bonus vs all statuses.

Been there done that

Kentard designed an omnipotent defense line for Cobalt with a little of everything in his giant thread of stuff.

@Luguiru

Viridian Chainmail line only featured differing amounts of elemental and shadow resistance, with penalties vs stun/shock/fire.
Nice start, though.
