Sure, supply packs are crown sinks, that's fine.
But what if in addition to that, the moment someone turns in a supply pack, a random player currently in the clockworks gets a little package that floats down from the sky, like a care package from Haven. Hitting it explodes into random clockworks items, such as health vials, remedy capsules, and status vials. I don't think it should drop crowns or heat, as that is not temporary for the clockworks.
This keeps the mission a crown sink, but makes it fun for those currently adventuring. The more people who are on doing it, the more people who are adventuring will benefit, and it never benefits you directly, so you aren't paying to win (I guess you could get on an alt and spam supply packs, but it's random and there are enough players on).
That leads into the other part of the idea, which is allowing you to do this mission whenever you want, not just for daily prestige. This could be set up as an item you buy from Vatel, and activate in your inventory. To curb possible exploits, you can only activate 5 per hour, 10 per day. If you aren't doing a prestige mission, maybe each one can be worth a meager 5 prestige. Poor players won't do this. Rich ones will. No one loses, everyone wins, and the game still has a crown sink.
To top it off, the player who bought the supply pack would get a system message telling them who found their package. All in fun!
This creates more social activity, no one can exploit it, clockworks players will appreciate it, and it'll be a constant crown sink. Is there something bad about this idea that I'm missing? (and sorry if this idea was suggested, I did a search and didn't see it)
Seems kind of cool. I don't think I see too much wrong with the idea, since you've put a cap on the amount of prestige you can get from it and it's completely optional. Personally I'd like to see this as an incentive to do Arcade runs though, meaning supply packs would only drop to people in gates. Thoughts?
