This has been going on ever since the new update, every time I try to run the game (with installing that patch). It stays at 90% complete while downloading, and does nothing else afterwards. Any idea?

Thank you for responding
I restarted Steam earlier several times. I shall try restarting my computer later, after I finish my work. I'll comment here if it's a success or not. Thanks for the advice.
Edit: I still have a similar problem, now it's staying at 5%.

Can you please post your projectx.log file then? It should be located in the same directory that Spiral Knights is installed to. (~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/spiral knights)

It looks like something odd
It looks like something odd is happening with the intro-bundle.jar file. Please try deleting the file and then starting Spiral Knights. That should allow the updater to acquire a clean copy. (~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/spiral knights/rsrc)

Working
I re-installed Spiral Knights through Steam to just obtain a new inro-bundle-jar. I made sure to look for that. It took 2 tries of reinstallation, but now the game works. Thank you Helios for your help!
Sometimes restarting Steam or your computer will un-stick the downloader.
