Does anybody else think that Three Rings should increase the amount of crowns mobs drop? Since the population of Spiral Knights is rapidly increasing, the demand of energy also increases. Recently, a patch decreased the amount of crowns you get from runs, which I don't quite understand since the cost for ce is increasing, so shouldn't the amount of crowns you get also increase? I feel that Three Rings is making the game tougher, maybe a little too tough. Moving through tiers would take even longer. Obviously, this is to make people buy energy with real money, but the rest of the Spiral Knights population that doesn't buy energy with real money would be at a disadvantage, which is totally unfair. I just hope that this game won't end up like Maplestory where buying things with real money affects the game a lot. Hopefully, if you are a Three Rings programmer, you will understand and try to increase the profit gained from runs a little more. Thanks!

There are crowns and there are CE.
100 CE = how many crowns ?
1) Let's say crowns are REALLY EASY TO GET.
2) Let's say crowns are REALLY HARD TO GET.
I have 100 CE to trade you. Will you trade me more crowns in situation 1) or situation 2) ?
If your brain is working properly, you now understand why it makes sense for 3 Rings to DECREASE crown drops.

That's entirely the point. People buy with money purely because it does give them a time advantage.
Also, a blanket crown increase would not help matters because all you would do is drive the bid price up since everyone would have that extra crowns to spare.
I think you're overestimating the effect of the patch anyway. AFAIK the only places nerfed were RJP and mission arenas, and the former wasn't hurt by that much either.
Except that is not even how economy works. It does not really matter how much or how little the crown gain in the clockworks are.
The prices on the market are based on demands and availability of CE. If 3Rings raised crown gain in the clockworks, the CE price would go up even more as people have more crowns.
