Reasons:
#1. "An advanced alchemical armament adapted from Gremlin mining and demolition devices." - demolition may require some other targets.
#2. Charges would allow us setting traps for the incoming monsters.
#3. Maybe this line would finally become a valid LD choice?
Catalyzer line charges should be able to stick to everything that is destructible in the game or even to every surface.
I guess the charge will simply circulate around the block it hit! I mean: if I hit a group of jellies it circulates around one of them, not all until they spread!
This would overpower the weapon... maybe not so much in lockdown, but in the clockworks...
If anything, I'd like to see beacon like monsters to tag. Kind of like a turret. Those would make it more useful, especially if they weren't shadow resistant and healed.
Overpower... maybe. I mean: it is not easy to lure a group of monsters next to the block that you have prepared having a limited amount of time.
It just bugs me that charged bullets stick only to the monsters - I see no reason behind that.
This change could also make biohazard a valid LD weapon. Especially given the fact that ANY catalyzer can trigger the explosion :) Imagine that: LD mine fields!
> "valid LD weapon"
Not that I don't think the idea of "setting traps" is cool, and would be an awesome addition to LD, but I didn't realize that there were "invalid" weapons for it. From what I can tell, it's mostly skill and the weapon is just preference of how to attack...
Just go to LD and use it. Apart from the fact that the bullets will not reach anywhere in time, its main advantage: the charge traps, remains unused. Any other weapon will work better.
I dont see many obstacles on LD that could be used to stick traps. Most blocks gets destroyed in the first seconds by strikers.
Also what woudl happen if said block was destroyed after you stick a bullet? (unles you're alone, it will always happen)
Or how would it work on a series of blocks? it's easy to see it on a lonely block... but what if thare is a row of them? woudl bullets circle all around them? Would they clip thru that single block? Both scenarios lead to the same rpoblem: attack enemies behind a block barrier they cant destroy.
By series of blocks and problems with it, I imagine this: http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j353/klipwc/spiral_2011-09-05_04-40-...
