What I want:
MAX dmg, High/VH ASI, VH CTR on guns, and High+ fire resist
What I have:
Shadowsun Slicker
Elite Trueshot mod
Swiftstrike
What I can do:
1) Buy perfect mask of seerus (from a friend) for 4.8kCE and use another Elite Trueshot mod
2) Craft shadowsun stetson and use Elite Gun focus mod. Try and UV roll a fire UV
3) Buy a fire UVed gunslinger hat (High or MAX), craft it into shadowsun and use Elite gun focus mod
Which of these options is likely to cost me the least?
All three of your options involve a new offensive trinket. So those equal out; let's remove them from consideration. You want to know which is cheapest:
A) 4,800 CE: At 7,000 crowns per 100 CE, this is 336,000 crowns.
B) Rolling for a High or Very High fire UV: There are 10 kinds of UVs that you can get on armor (four damages, six statuses). Suppose, for the sake of argument, that you get High or Very High 25% of the time. (That might be optimistic?) Then your expected number of rolls, to get High or Very High fire UV, is 40. At 20,000 crowns per roll, your expected cost is 800,000 crowns.
C) Buying and upgrading: I don't know how much the Gunslinger Hat would cost; I'm not good at AH prices for most items. But upgrading an item from 3-star to 5-star costs a total of 126,500 plus materials, when CE is at 7,000.
It seems that Option C is cheapest, if the 3-star hat costs less than about 210,000. If the 3-star hat costs more, than Option A is cheapest?
Why does it come down the the PMoS? Isn't Option C cheaper?
well.......I thought about it a bit, and mask of seerus is still a better deal. It also gives me shock and ASI low
I dont think you can get a MAX fire for 3kce.......they are worth way more, around 20kce. Just did a price check with some buddies.

craft, but you don't really need to roll fire UV, you should be perfectly fine on FSC after playing there for a while unless you get bad connection. Or rather, save up to buy expansion pack from steam trade, that way you could get "free" new sword + bomb that you may play it sometimes. UV roll on something else that is more profitable for you.
