Have items retain a fraction of their heat

So, lately I've been doing alot of grinding...
...ALOT of grinding...

See, I got some CE, and I've been using it to make my first set of 3-star items (after playing for about a year, I figure I should do that). The drawback of this though, is that those items lose ALL of their heat when upgraded. The worst part is, from what I can tell, the damage/armor-ratings end up going DOWN, because I take a leveled 2-star item and turn it into an unleveled one. That kinda makes me squeamish about upgrading any of my older items like my Troika and Spur, which have been my best friends for a while...

It's also possible that I've missed some math here, as I'm a programmer and not a mathematician, in which case, disregard my lack of math and I'll go back to multi-threading....

Edit: sorry, I'm dumb. The suggestion here is that leveled items retain a fraction of their heat, making them not go down in power when you level them. Once again though, I may be missing math here...

.....

At most, I'd say a fraction of EXCESS heat allowed for upgraded items. So when upgraded to 2-4*, items would retain a fraction of the heat not needed, i.e. 3* needs heat Level 5 to upgrade to 4*, so 'excess heat'=level 5+.

Otherwise no.

It's supposed to be grindy and tedious. OOO wants you to buy heat amplifier. Since you seem to be sane, you won't.

I'm pretty sure the stats don't go down when you upgrade, though, except for the CTR/health bonus, of course. I wouldn't worry about weakening your weapon though upgrading. 3-star items get heat really fast anyway. Wait until you get 4 and 5-star...

How do you think alots feel when you do alot of grinding? The nerve people have these days...

Anyway, I think Sarcontine's pretty much said what I would have said in regards to the actual topic at hand.

I never found it hard to heat

I never found it hard to heat items until they reach 5* level 5. Then it's quite slow even in FSC. Don't heat more than 2 items at a time?

It's what friends are for - ask them to die for you, at places with healing pads. Revive 7 times to transfer most if not all of the heat.

Well

You give them 30% of your heat each time. So overall you have left,
0rev 100%
1rev 70%
2rev 49%
3rev 34%
4rev 24%
5rev 17%
6rev 12%
7rev 08%
8rev 06%
9rev 04%
10 rev 2%

Theoretically anything after 6 revives doesn't give you enough heat to matter. Unless you somehow get >500 heat in a level (with small embers being 1, med 2, and large 3) which I doubt will happen but you would never have to go past ten. It just annoys me when people sit there for twenty minutes revving
