Would the Triglav's charge attack hit from outside Vana's fireball barrier in phase 5? I say Triglav 'cause it'd Freeze him afterward.
Also, the DBB. Does it hit through the fireball barrier?

DBB is the best damage bomb
DBB is the best damage bomb is you plan to bomb vana but having done it before it takes a very long time and a lot of dodging. RSS can be used and can do more damage if you can get vana to charge ontop of it but its very risky with the fireballs.

Yes, all troika upgrades can hit him in the last phase, you just need to be ~2-3 squares away from the outermost fireballs.
Not that only the explosion will hit him in the 5th stage, due to the glitch that spawn the first hitbox just in front of the knight.

The triglav isn't great for vana, but in a pinch it works exactly as Tsuba said. It doesn't freeze reilably enough to use it to freeze vana up.
The DBB is quite viable (but REALLY slow) for vana. What's nice is it hits a large area so you are quite free to move around as you drop them around or in front of Vana.
I've been in a party before where party members have gone up unexpectedly before vana and left myself and another bomber to fight him by ourselves.
It took FOREVER, but eventually using just shiver and DBB we beat him without any mishaps using the same technique as the standard shiver/blitz. It would be quite a bit faster now that it does more damage and charges faster. :)

Triglav, no.
DBB, yes. Nothing does through the barrier, but it can dmg vana, as the bomb does AoE dmg. As long as vana is close enough to the center of explosion, it will dmg him.
DBB and Triglav are both terrible vana weapons.
