We have a "Played" time displayed in character selection screen, why not to add this info in to the Inspect window? Somewhere around rank and score.

I usually have full inspect on but strangers don't need to know how I allot my personal time. I ignore how much time I've spent on Spiral Knights since I'm sure it's a pretty horrifying statistic.

Exactly. We have all those things to judge by ALREADY. Adding something NEW to judge by makes the judging more 'accurate', and generally makes people judge more. I already said it's bad enough people judge by all those already, we don't need something else to judge by.

If it's private, then there shouldn't be a reason for public display. Simple matter to check how long you've played for and tell someone else about it.
And Prestige isn't entirely private. Even with Full Inspect off, you can still see their Mission Rank. Likely, there are already those who kick anyone out of their party who holds the title 'Apprentice' while hollering 'NOOB!'

i would be curious to know how long knights of my friends and random mates exist. also game is about clockworks, and almost everything in it about time. Sad that all of opinions here are going from by who and what will think about other. I don't have in friends people, who judge by gear, prestige, etc.
Imperialstriker, funny, cuz so "pompous and arrogant" person like me, should judge everyone for what they wear.
i haven't thought, that someone could find this suggestion so bad, and the problem in people who looking for bad sides in innocuous information.

Okay, maybe you don't have any friends who judge by time; or at least don't show any sign of it, but those kinds of people are out there. Who knows, maybe one or two of your friends would judge you by time if this ever comes out.

In modern society, the definition of "normal" children is very blurry. Like I said, those kinds of people are out there, and this sort of stuff is very much within their capabilities. And I'm not exactly wild about the metaphor.
Right now I'm rather on the fence about this idea, I mean, it opens us up to more beggars who inspect you for a few seconds and suddenly "OMFG U PLAY SO LONG GIBME CRS". Also, I think this might be reducing our privacy to practically transparency*cough facebook cough* and most people won't exactly be fine with that. Then again it also gets you bragging rights, so meh. I'm ambivalent.

sure, i've added a little more text in it, and also changed word "should" to "might".
People will judge solely on playtime.
If it wasn't bad enough they judged by gear, people will think: 'Zomg guy's played for only 48 hours kick noob', when it might actually be the alt of a Vet player or something.
Likewise, some people might think some guy's an uber pro, having played for 1337 hours, and bug him/her for ages to help him CW-wise/Financially because he's 'pro'.
Also, the supposed 'pro' may suck genitalia and end up dying more than the noob and whine and moan about non-existent lag. I know a few people like that. 'Knew' actually, having already removed them from any affiliation lists I may have had.
