So under the Terminal writing in the load screen it says The Crossroads of Adventure.

Crossroads usually mean a four way intersection in our driving terms. Or if you want to get into symbols, the crossroads of one's life (or decisions).

But with SK, what's this crossroad referring to?

Because on the way up, we don't stop at any Terminal. Its just a one load-screen worth to get back to Haven. Is thiis crossroads an allusion to the fact that there is a non-working elevator platform at all Terminals? One day this elevator will work?

And think, will this elevator, instead of going down or up, go sideways. Surely there are ways to get to "depths" other than going down or up. Can't you go sideways?

....or perhaps I'm reading too much into this bit of text.

It may be called a "crossroads" because of the other elevator in the upper left-hand corner that has long since been deactivated. This would have made a 4-way intersection.

At least that's what I always thought.

In T3, there's the Shadow Lairs in the Terminal, so it may be referring to that too.

Or the crossroads could be referring to the multiple gate entrances in the arcade. Although it'd be more than a 4-way split....

On a lighter note, I would love to see 'sideways' elevators, as OP suggested, in a content update. It seems that we fly through the different depths without fully exploring each level, a side elevator that would take you to different variations of a themed level would be cool to see. Just imagine, 30 straight levels of graveyards....

Well it used to be in the a shape of a cross but then they removed the minerals at basil and it turned into how it is now. Also you forgot about how the T3 basil level has access to the shadow lairs .
